My initial reaction were the tears. No, believe me. It really was. And they were unstoppable, heck. Okay, my second reaction was this : I can't believe I've always skipped this fic when browsing through the fandom for good Gary Oak fics. And now that I've finally read this, I'm learning that this, itself, is truly a masterpiece wholly, and I can only say I'm contented to have discovered upon such a gem. It really is!

You set alot of things I never really gave much thought about into perspective. Things like Gary's resemblance to his grandfather, the alternate reason why Gary chose to be a researcher, that Delia could have ended up with Prof Oak, and Ash becoming Gary's uncle of that sort, Gary and Prof Oak sharing the same name. It wasn't just a good read - it was awfully thought-provoking in a very positive kind of way, and I really congratulate you on such an awesome product of work. It really deserves the praises, what with those grab-a-tissue-now moments inserted at more than occasional times. (sorry I can't stop ranting on and on!) I loved how you explore another side to Gary Oak's personality - it's one that's seldom revealed to us, but evident within him somehow that we all know.

YAY! That was great! I think you know more about Gary than you think you do! And it's funny that you chose to kill who you did. Oh well. I'm pretty apathetic to him, and it made the story flow well. But-Gary is great in this story. I love it. You're a great writer.

Well done. *chuckle* Sorry, couldn't resist. Gary has always been an odd character to me: In the game, I like him. In the two manga versions (One loosely based on the TV series, and one loosely based on the game... even though he's called "Blue" in the latter, I still think of him as "Gary") I don't mind him. In the TV series I can't stand him. Those annoying cheerleaders whose entire vocabulary seems to be based around how COOL Gary is, have a lot to do with it, I think... Oh well. Nice to see him characterized as sympathetic for a change, without going against his character and making him a "nice kid"... which he is not. But he has his reasons for acting like he does, and this fic realizes that. Again, well done. _

This is a beautiful fanfiction! I can tell that you put a LOT of thought into writing this! Very well done! (Um... no pun intended...)

Oh... now that was beautiful. I am an anti-Gary writer myself, but I think this was one of the most wonderful looks into his mind and his relationship with Ash and his grandfather that I have ever seen. BenRG's Rating 9/10.

An idea: An anti-AAMR but with a difference. Why must they either like or hate each other? I would like to see a story where Ash and Misty grow into *friendship* rather than love. They are happy as friends and see no reason to change this, even though everyone else is trying to get them together. Finally, after they both fall in love with original characters, they decide to stage an interesting little practical joke on their interfering friends and kin...
