Loved the story. Some very interesting psychological angst for Tatsumi. Muraki was a bit *too* cartoon-villainish, but not annoyingly so. A nice stand-alone story, which works well considering the supposition of a pre-existing relationship between Tatsumi and Watari.

I'm in two minds about riling against your 'version' of Watari's abilities. The canon-purist in me wishes to complain loudly that he's no *way* that powerful as to raise the dead. But that's drowned out by the fangirl in me squealing "Cool!".

I have a soft spot for any writer who sees past Watari's 'comic relief' side. Your portrayal of him satisfied me. Decidedly creepy, with a cold factual logic which floored Muraki despite the fact that, disturbingly and ironically enough, it was along much the same lines as Muraki himself uses to taunt Tsuzuki. And the image of Watari in black...Nice. ;)

A great story, entertaining and dramatic. Liked it.
