I'm sorry but while Harry's reaction to her initial nonchalance was somewhat expected the fact that she then got all cold pissy and basically said he was an attention whore would have pissed off a normal person. He wouldn't have been 'thankful' that she didn't fuss over him. If anything surely he'd be just as annoyed that she'd assumed that he was bigheaded.

I just don't understand how her making a snap decision on him based on his fame is any different than what everyone else does?

Ch 52 and almost done. But seriously, "was leant"? How about 'Harry leaned', or 'Harry was leaning', even just 'harry leant' is o.k, without a WAS. You're killin' me!

No legilmancy to see if he's lying, and not even a "roll up your sleeve, Draco"? Do you really think Harry's that stupid? I just hope Draco doesn't use the "mwuhahahahahaaaaaa" laugh later on.

All these cliffhanger chapter endings are ok, since I'm on chapter 39 and I started this yesterday, knowing it was a completed fic. That being said, I can't even imagine how pissed off anyone would have been if they started reading this SEVEN YEARS AGO, and tried to wait each cliffy out. The story is good, but I almost quit twice, all within 24 hours. (maybe it needs a little 'speaker' icon you can click on at the end of each chapter. One that will play " DUHN duhn duuuuunnnnnnnnnn!")

Is this story slash or something? Because seriously, some of these lines totally make it feel like that.

"I may even give a prize for the man who can amuse me the greatest in his activities."

"Voldemort reached out his hand and gently ran it down the side of Harry's face..."

"... and grabbed Harry's chin in his hand."

These three lines just feel awkward. I mean if it's supposed to be that way I won't judge, but if that wasn't the intended objective they feel weird. Maybe it's just me that feels that way, but oh well. I'll carry on reading.

' ' finally gave me what I've been looking for ...( in response to the question is it "sitting", "sat", or "was sat"? ( I knew "was sat" just sounded wrong, but I didn't have any proof )

"She was sitting on the floor" 1) past imperfect implying a continuing action in the past;

"She sat on the floor" - past perfect, implying an action that was completed in the past, using the past participle of the verb to sit;

"She was sat on the floor" - just plain wrong, confusing past imperfect structure with past participle use.

Here are two examples that demonstrate this. You would never say: "She was ate a biscuit" or "She was drank a cup of tea".

Having already deleted one review, trying to play nice, I can't believe that two chapters later I'm frustrated enough to writing this! (from ch6 of this fic... " A couple of muggles, Harry's neighbours, were killed by the Avada Kadavra curse." spoken BY DUMBLEDORE ) ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Dumbledore is one of two people in the whole JKR universe, canon or not, that may claim to MAYBE be the most powerful wizard alive. Of those two he is the oldest, presumably the most intellectually mature, definitely the most educated, and he is NOT an insane, psycopathic cult leader or mass murderering, wanna-be holocaust Grand Poo-bah. That established, wouldn't you think he could have mastered most known spells, their uses, incantations, wand movements, silent casting, and possibly wand-less techniques, AS WELL AS have a really good idea how to teach all of the aformentioned skills, given his 100 years or so as a teacher and administrator, along with being Chief Warlock and Supreme Mugwump? OK, stay with me, here... The 'killing curse', one of the unforgiveables, requires the incantation, audibly or silent, "avada kadavra". Everyone agrees, right? A 'stunner' uses the word "stupefy", as does a memory charm ( or obliviation) uses "obliviate". "Crucio" for the cruciatus, "reducto" for a 'reductor' curse, and the list goes on and on. I'll spare you the entire list, you can look them up. ( No, really, I'm begging you, PLEASE look them up ) Here's the intersection where all the nice things we think of Dumbledore crosses my personal 'fan fic pet peeve number one'. Dumbledore DID NOT say anyone was killed by an 'avada kadavra' curse, I don't care WHO'S alternate universe you are living in. My only possible reasoning, and I am book-snob enough to not accept the argument, is that all of the people that don't know the difference between the spell's name, and the incantation to perform it, MUST only be watching the movies, and never even opening the books. You might as well have Ron's broken wand from second year, or Neville's broken nose from year five, for all the good it would do to run around shouting "stun, stun, stun" or "cutting curse, uh... big explosion hex, uh... tie 'em up in ropes!" ( that would be 'diffindo', 'bombarda', and 'incarcerous' for those playing at home) Please, please, please care enough to not embarrass yourself with the vocabulary, especially when all the other writing skills seem to be there, AND the story is pretty cool, too!
