Hey. I just read your story and I really enjoyed it, although I thought that some of the fluffyness overpowered the fact that Mort had murdered his ex-wife and her lover. I just imagined that Mort would have been a little defensive towards Madison, a little insane even, after watching the scene of the end of the movie (where Mort is eating the corn). He has mental problems that he needs to over come, they can't be resolved straight away with no help whatsoever. I would've liked to see more problems between Mort and Madison, problems that they would need to resolve to gain each others trust, in order to form a relationship. I also think that Madisons' reaction to when she found out the truth about Amy and Ted could have been stronger, or different, she seemed to just move on from the fact straight away. I think that's all I've got to say, critism wise. Don't be offended by it, because it's just my opinion, I actually really did enjoy your story. I like how you wrote most of your story in first person but then switched to third person, it flowed nicely, and most people can't pull that off. I liked Madison too, although sometimes she got close to the point of being dubbed a 'Mary-Sue', she made up for it later on. When you described Morts' expressions and gestures they were spot on, I could imagine Johnny Depps' handsome face in my head doing certain expressions. I think that's all I'll say or I'll be needing a full page for my review. Overall, a job well done, but if you decide to write a sequel, please bring up Morts' problems more when you're writing for that character. You don't have to of course, but it's just something I would like to see. Good job! Keep it up. =]

I just read your entire story. It's by far one of my favorites. Usually I gravitate twards the ones where Shooter is still in the picture. I love drama suspense and romance. Can't get enough his unpredicatable split personality but this, this was so cute romantic and fluffy. It was a page turner. Madison is a very likable charater.

Oh, wow. I'm so glad I found this story! I was up with a headache one night and decided, out of the blue, that I would watch Secret Window. I hadn't seen it in quite some time and I fell in love with Mort Rainey once again. While reading this, I felt so connected with the characters and their emotions. You're a beautiful writer and you definitely kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the chapters. In the beginning, I thought that Madison should have been a bit younger, since she was still under her father's rule. At 25, I thought she could have made a living on her own, but it all came together and I understood how overbearing and powerful her father was. (I was so happy to see him walk away in the end! :]
I just wish we could turn these stories into movies as easily as we can write them! But I suppose that's what keeps the imagination alive.
