This is really good. Really good. It's nice to see Upchuck portrayed differently than what the show had him as.

His character was always meant to just be one without much development, but no person is as flat as how he was shown.

This is fantastic. It's really written in his voice. Many stories use plots like yours, and the characters always seem so interchangable, but this really stands out. Nice work!

One of the best Daria fanfictions I've had the pleasure of reading. I really wish that you'd write more on this, although I admit that it'd lose some of it's punch with additional subject matter.
