Great story! Somehow, you managed to make me chuckle and feel sad in almost the same sentence. I like the premise you base this on, and the whole idea of limbo and the afterlife, and yet not really pertaining to any religion. And I feel your character depiction was very on, too!

That was a great story; I truly enjoyed reading it! Keep up the excellent work, my friend.

I've had this story in my To Read folder for ages now and finally got around to reading it.

Wonderful story. I loved your premise and the spiritual aspects of it were well-thought out (for example, the two Beings and how Malcolm was in Purgatory) and conveyed.

Chapter nine was a very good twist that was very nicely foreshadowed. I like that Malcolm learned something about himself through the experience.

Constructive criticism following: I was a bit confused, in chapter four I think, by the name for Malcolm's wife switching from Cathy to Elanor and back again and by some strange word choices, like 'subjugations' when I think you might have meant conjugations.

These little things didn't detract from my enjoyment of your story though. It was very nicely plotted and the flashbacks were all revealing and necessary, not to mention fun to read and you picked up and concluded all your threads, for instance, when you went back to Malcolm's family.

Thanks for writing this. It was a fun read.

I just found out that you have updated the story. I liked it very much and the epilogue nearly choked me. I still have tears in my eyes. What a wonderful ending.

A beautiful ending... it reminds me a good deal of the end of The Last Battle by CS Lewis, which is the last of the Narnia Chronicles. If you haven't read it I recommend it highly. Lovely story, and I like very much how you ended it. Hope to see more from you!

I particularly liked the part where he died, again. I m ean, sure, I'd have liked to see him alive and well, but this was good. This fit better.

Then, with a rush of sound and colour, Malcolm was thrown back into the real world. He wondered for a moment why the voice had apologised, but then he remembered, just before something hard and painful hit him in the chest, that he had just placed himself in the path of two approaching bullets.

“Bugger.” He said.'
