yue no rei 2009-10-13 . chapter 23Really great story, bit more angst than expected and shed a few more tears throughout than I possibly wanted to but complicated and intriguing plot. Few things went in ways I hoped it would not, with Draco's death I cannot see Harry's desire in the Mirror of Erised being achieved either again. And the snake.. Really though, it was a well written story, I'd loathe not putting the story in my favourite for that. |
snapeangel 2009-10-03 . chapter 23well il'm glad it all ended up working out..very nice complicated story

snapeangel 2009-10-03 . chapter 14interesting end of the chapter

 snapeangel 2009-10-03 . chapter 9huh, i thought neville was the possessed one..guess not |
Celestial Moonwalker 2009-09-08 . chapter 23It was so thoroughly depressing at first. Now it's filled with hope. Wow.
I really wonder what Harry's Patronus is |
 Bobette13 2009-09-07 . chapter 23oh. my. god.
I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU KILLED OFF DRACO!
or an immortal snake! i mean, the snake's not as bad (barely), because it's already lived for a really long time, but draco was just comming round to the good side!
that being said, well done on writing a story that didnt follow the usual rules- aka, main characters didnt all heroically survive. harry was also quite believeable, with his struggles and all that.
the chapter before this seemed a bit rushed, but it was a really cool ending. death by (turning into a) dementor? interesting. any chance we could know what harry's patronus looked like? i can't imagine him not asking after being told it wiped out ALL dementors.
and the story basically ignored harry's blindness a lot of the time- his snake shouldn't have been that useful, seeing as it could only see things quite near it (not to mention all the disorientation harry felt whenever it moved quickly, aka like a snake).
the only other thing that seemed a bit off was the snake. he obviously liked this snake, and yet had no issues calling it and it. would you call your pet dog an it? no. i mean, it may be immortal and all that rot, but even so a gender would probably be assigned to it, depending on how it behaved (i would say male, in this story). ditto on a name too, especially since he was so adamant about what the snake should call him.
...just a little rant from someone who likes snakes. :)
anyway. 9/10. highly enjoyable read. |
lady-pumpkin-pie 2009-09-04 . chapter 23Nice! Rather more angsty than I usually like to read, but perhaps more realistic too. Good job! |
 gothic-hands 2009-08-26 . chapter 1looks interesting |
 RomanGoddess4eva 2009-08-22 . chapter 23I loved this story. It was wonderful. |
tilthen 2009-08-16 . chapter 23This has to be one of the darkest stories I've read on this site, and I've read quite a few. I started to read it about three times before I ever finished. I found the last few chapters a bit confusing, but I mean that in a good way. I actually felt like I couldn't see what was going on! It kind of freaked me out. You did a very good job at getting what Harry was feeling across. |
Lady Black-Malfoy 2009-08-13 . chapter 23I loved this story! I think that you wrote a very beleivable Severus Snape which can be very hard to do sometimes. The dementor thing was very interesting to although I wish you would have gone into more detail because the end was a little hard to follow. Great otherwise though. |
Badbonita 2009-08-09 . chapter 23First of all, that was an interesting read from beginning to end. At this point in time, there are several stories out there that have Harry dealing with losing his sight as well as discovering that Snape is his father but I have to admit that this one is in a league of it's own. That Harry managed to deal with the situation that life (or Fate) threw at him is a testament to his strong character. Even the moments of depression and angst are so characteristic of a person dealing with the trauma of the magnitute that Harry was dealing with.
The character of Cinna was ... well, disgusting. He reminded me so much of Umbridge (By the way, she drops Harry in Jaeggat Prison and then drops out of the story. No retribution? And isn't that a revolting place, as well)
I'm sorry that Draco died in such a vicious and cruel manner. He redeemed himself, in my eyes, when he forgave Harry for being Gwalchgwyn.
It was also too bad that Ron went nutso after his encounter with the brains. That the populace of Hogwarts believed him and then began to see that Mr. Weasley was fanatical but didn;t change their opinion regarding Harry was just - not predictable but definitely fickle. So much like most of the Wizarding World when it came to Harry.
Also, the fact that Snape (nor Harry) was unable to break the persona he had created in order to simply tell Harry that Snape would like him to live close to him in the dungeons, was an excellent touch.
The only real negative I could find was the brutal darkness and viciousness regarding what happened to Harry (the beatings, the rapes, the abuse) but you warned everyone by making the rating 'M'. But you in turn, wer NOT graphic about what happened. It was all in Harry's mind and flashbacks so it was easier to deal with. But this is just me and I did make it to the end.
So, as I said, excellent read. I looked over your bio and wish you good luck with your original work. Thanks for the view into your fic. |
Li Nika 2009-06-28 . chapter 23I have read your story Tread Sofly before, a long time before, and then I was not in to the habit of cheking out good authors other works. I came back to re-read it recently though, and then I went to check out your other stories.
I'm infiniely greatful that I have read this story. I think it's very uniqe.
I love how you portrait the caracters, they seem quite canon actually, I donät have a hard time at all to imagen the characters from the book to actually act like this if they were faced with the same circumstances. Not a lot of authors manage to do that.
At last, I want to tell you that you moved me to tears three times during this story. Serously and truely, I cried. And just to let you know, I love a story that can make me either laugh of cry.
I think you should be proud of this pice of work. It's a wonderful thing, and I'm sure I'll come back a few times to re-read it.
Thank you for sharing this with us! |
lastcrazyhorn 2009-06-22 . chapter 9I'm only in the 9th chapter, but woah.
Ah, the nose thing . . . *snorts* |
Gondegoogoo 2009-06-18 . chapter 23Wow. That's the first thing that comes to my mind. I really enjoyed this story. The amazing plots are what I have never seen before, especially about wearing the Dementors Cloak. Great idea. The emotions that Harry was going through was so clearly displayed that I could feel my heart clench at his angst, his confusion.
Amazing story! Great job!:D |
