There's nothing wrong with being depressing. I like this. It's nice to see what could have happened to Van, or to Keren had things turned out differently. It seems that something should be pulling Errin out though. I don't know what, maybe his duty though, like Van. I like all the sadness that goes into this, but I sortof wish a little happiness, or hope could come out.
Well, that was nice and convoluted. As you can see, I'm very good at reviewing. :)
