Wow. I had the urge at the beginning of this that possibly Kenshin had come into one of those famed moments of “If I stay away, I can't hurt them further.” However, as he go more introspective, it was clear that he really did want to be there. It made sense though, once we figured out he was there in spirit only. The best thing I can say to this, is that in very Kenshin fashion he threw off his jealousy and thought instead of how Sano and Kaoru would help each other, and how Sano would stand with her, protecting her.

You know, you could still continue, if the urge ever struck you. From Kaoru's point of view on the event, yeah? Like, the day after, or some such. And if you really felt ambitious, a Yahiko perspective piece concerning the day the dojo gets the news of Kenshin's unfortunate accident... Just ideas to throw out at an author. ^_^

It was a very good and origional idea thoguh, I quite liked this story!

Oh, Sano had a soft moment. I can't say as I blame him, he's always taken care of comforting Jou-chan in some way. You ever notice that? On the anime and in the manga. I usually see it as a big brother little sister sort of deal, but this worked. I guess my only complaint would be, that possibly they both fell to quickly and too quietly into kisses. Of course, Kenshin's been gone for months and that was a pretty emotional moment. Bah, I guess I just like long drawn out angsty scenes is all ^_^

But maybe I'll get that if Kenshin's eyes are those in the bushes...
