but i must say that you are more than just a little mistaken as to what a songfic really is.

What you've written here would more accurately be classified as a one-shot

A song fic traditionally contains no actual singing. The writer weaves the lyrics into the story in order to heighten the emotions of the fic or further dramatize the events of the story.

I'm sorry if this comes off a bit mean-spirited, but I love this song and I was just disappointed to see that it wasn't really a song-fic. Your summary is very misleading
