Aww... that was so sweet. You manage Irvine quite well - an excellent take on a personal side that, in-game, rarely comes out unless one is watching for it. I especially love the definition of Irvine as a 'skittish' person - probably because I can identify. ^^

Very nice. I quite like Irvine/Selphie, considering I usually dislike canon major character pairings and I would much rather see a dozen more Irvine/Selphie pairings written this excellently, than a hundred moderately good Squinoa's or Seiftis'.

Huh, I didn't get an Author's Alert for this. But today I was flipping through my list of favorite author's, seeing if anyone had anything new up in their bio about future updates, and I found this. :) I was very happy, and all, "Kitt wrote Irvine/Selphie!"

And it was well-done, as usual. You've got a great handle on Irvine and your take on his past is interesting. I also really like how Selphie accepted it all without knowing - but then of course she still wanted to know. It was a little touch that fits Selphie, that is deep and meaningful and made me smile at the same time.

The characters are so real, and just in the first chapter you find all you'll want to see from those two... Well the rest is up to you and I hope you give us more of this magic ^^

Wow! Great chapter! I like your take on Irvine. I didn't really like FFVI, but you've made me see it in a new light. Great atmosphere, and I don't usually see fics where Irvine really becomes serious and cool, the way he is here, and it's a refreshing change. Don't compare this fic with the others, cos it stands out better, and I think the essence of Irvine's characteristics are so clearly written. A very nice and down-to-earth intepretation of him, and I like the way you used the phrase 'moths to flame'. Fantastic piece you have here. =)

Heartwarming and very in-character, "Road to Somewhere" is the ideal Irvine/Selphie fic. You did a wonderful job of playing on the insecurities in Irvine that were hinted at in the game while explaining his actions. Very, very nice piece.
