Earelwen 2004-04-26 . chapter 1sniff that was sad. So much death! We obviously like the same kind of stories: angst, death, angst, pain, angst and healthy helping of our dear hobbits and elf. Please update soon. This is really good. Please let them find Merry and Sam soon. I don't understand your summery: t'was 1 year since i died etc. I guess thats explained in the next chapie. Again thanks so much for reviewing my story "No Escape" and i have just this second updated it if your interested. Only one more chapter after that i think. Anyway keep writing. Best thing you can do with your time in my opinion. |
Cm 2004-04-19 . chapter 1 Ah! I love this! I am so happy you decided to write this companion piece. You made this new destroyed Middle-earth very credible, and the reasons for it's downfall even more so. The style you write in is wonderful to say the least, and I am quite fond of it.
Aragorn is bitter, and I like how you made him so, and I also like the small personality tweaks you gave to Legolas, Gimli, Eomer and Gandalf, it fits them very well, and it cannot be unexpected that they all would be changed after the fall and re-sieze of Middle-earth, so it's good that you made them that way. It's interesting and I can't wait to see were you go with character development.
Also, I can't wait to see how you put Thranduil into all this, because the relationship between Legolas and his father has always been a favorite topic of mine to read of especially, as there are many different variations on how their relationship actually is. So I want to see how you treat it.
Also I really want to see Merry in this! You portrayed him wonderfully in 'Sympathy' and I can't wait for his appearance in this fic. You gave him a great characterization, and I wonder how that will friction with the other characters. But the Hunters will be so saddened to find out that Frodo and Pippin *sniff* are gone! And I'm sure if they want to find out why they'll have to ask Merry ... or Sam at least, and that will be difficult for the hobbits. He is my favorite... so hopefully he'll play a substancial role in this fic ^_^ hehe. So I'm thinking, that the small figure leading the slaves to the river was Merry perhaps? And what was on those cots? Hmm...
Well, this review has really gotten rather long...lol so perhaps I'll stop and save whatever else is brewing in my mind for next time.
I am eagerly awaiting the next installment! Great work! |
