| Paperchase 2008-08-15 ch 1, | abuseI think this is a really nice piece of work. You're right, there are people who think that a charade is a bit unnatural. But with the argument that Serra is impossibly dense, your interpretation of this 'Inner Serra' is very creative, although I think you may have gone a little overboard with it. Maybe if Serra was quite outgoing anyway, but goes over the top with her personality sometimes? I like this story, don't get me wrong. But I did feel that the confession Serra near the end was a little too out-of-character. She's portrayed too much as a nervous, stammering person, when at best I think she should be perhaps a little flustered and uncomfortable, but tries to cover it with irregular bursts of confidence to convince herself the situation's under her control. I dunno, but that's my opinion. Apart from that, your strike of inspiration hit you in the right place (and left you with some quite literate brain damage) :D |
| DarkBlaziken 2007-06-22 ch 1, | abuseYes! so nice! i mean...it's like the description and everything...and the dramatic effect...it's just, nice. yeah! |
| fantasyblade88 2006-12-19 ch 1, | abuseAww... what a sweet story for Erk and Serra! Remarkable ending! |
| -yourknightinshiningarmor- 2006-08-11 ch 1, | abusei was kinda hoping that erk was gonna say something like i love u 2. But still it was a great story. Erk's my fave character tho, so i hate it when he gets turned down, but still, nice job! ^-^ |
| leradny 2005-10-26 ch 1, | abuseErkSerra. This pairing stood out to me the instant I noticed how their characters contrasted. But anyway, about your fic: I heart you. If I could somehow fit it all on my shirt, I would write "I heart TheOneandOnlyT" in place of "I heart Hershey's." This was an admirable lead in to an actual relationship--the charade, for instance. (Serra's NOT annoying? Wha...?) But it ties in so well I don't care. |
| Min the Noodle 2005-08-31 ch 1, | abuseErk and Serra! Hmm, the oblivious act is a bit... I dunno, it's believable, but I like Serra's personality the way it is- completely oblivious! Ha, but really, good job. It hurts when someone you like doesn't share your feelings, so Erk's reaction was very understandable. I loved the way everything worked out in the end- I'm a sucker for happy endings. Loved it! |
| Jovanna 2005-06-09 ch 1, | abuseaww. it made me cry :]! you should write a sequel! |
| paladin2007 2005-05-25 ch 1, | abuseWow...I never thought of Serra that way. It kinda makes sense now that I think about it. If I ever get writing a Fire Emblem story, I may just include this idea (with a proper disclaimer of course). And come on, this was the ONLY way to make the SerraxErk relationship work. Otherwise, PriscillaxErk. Anyways, great story...Erk cried like a little girl...which is sad, not funny. Anyways again, keep writing great angsty romances. I might read one sometime. Thanks for the entertainment! Bye! |
| anonymous 2005-02-27 ch 1, anon. | abuse*sniff* so sweet!! The charade was perfect! |
| Sara Jaye 2005-01-20 ch 1, | abuseThis was good. Both Erk and Serra felt pretty in-character and their angst was believable. And good call, not having them say "I love you, I love you back" right away or making it glaringly obvious they were in love but didn't say it-that would've ruined the effect. |
| nintendofreakgcn 2004-11-30 ch 1, | abuseWell, I'm afraid I have to agree that the whole charade idea is a little farfetched. Erk also reacts to Serra a bit too quickly for my liking, but that is to be expected with a one-shot. That siad though, Erk was handled brilliantly, particularly in that he wanted Priscilla at first. Speaking of which, that was a good tie-in with Defiance, both in Priscilla being in love with Heath and having Erk teach her how to use Anima magic. And, even though Serra's characterisation is little bit hard to believe, it does accomplish the goal of giving some actual reason for Serra/Erk. All in all, not as good as Defiance, but still a fine piece of work. |
| Timmycheese 2004-10-20 ch 1, | abusethis is the best serra/erk story ever! The charade (and i dont care what people say) was very plausable. And you should continue on with it! |
| zxX-wing-Xxz 2004-07-21 ch 1, | abuseno doubt...your stories are the best. now to read your masterpiece story... |
| not applicable 2004-06-15 ch 1, | abuseThe "charade" idea was a bit strange to me, but it didn't really matter. This is a nice, short fiction. Quite nice. |
| pureauthor 2004-06-04 ch 1, anon. | abuseHeh, good job. (Although what enabled me to finish the fic in the first place was the Erk/Priscilla hints... Nuts.) Anyway, I hate to rain on your parade, but... Serra's act isn't a charade. She DOES know when she's being insulted, then she acts pissy.(Matthew supports. Oswin supports.) And the reason she's annoying, mainly, is a cover-up. NOT to annoy Erk, though. She just doesn't want to deal with pain. (Get her Hector supports). So, in conclusion, good story, but the whole charade thing never took off in my mind for me. Sorry. (Oh, and as a sidenote, this was painful to read for some reason. Maybe it's because I tend to be obssessive about my pairings. Oh, well.) |
