I loved how you wrote Ensihi. He definitely sounds like a cross between a spoiled child and a disoriented, slightly lost and crazed person. I also enjoyed Kaoru's venting. She msut be gettign tired and confused even as she tries to stay determined with her spirits up.

I see things are really getting going for the day. I expect to see that continue in the next hour.

It took a while to get to this. It seems like the new day has started, so I expect things to pick up shortly. Then again, if they have less than 10 hours, they'll have to.

It jarred me at first to think of Megumi spilling all of Kenshin's secrets. I do see your point though that she would be feeling pretty traumatized. It would be a relief to have someone who is tangentially interested and aware and yet to her knowledge, not close enough to be effected by what she has to say.
Glad to have Kenshin's POV as eh briefly becomes aware, even so clearly confused and disoriented.

It was a nice switch to see Kaoru dealing with Enishi. I like the part where she is imagining him as someone she could know as she knows Sano, only to have his glare and abruptness bring her back to herself. If she is caring for Enishi’s wounds, just imagine if she knew what Kenshin was doing to himself right now.

I really like your portrait of Megumi. She is so strong but slips into vulnerable moments, with getting tipsy earlier and with fighting self pity here. I like how part of her is angry with Kenshin for not taking his own words, the ones that changed her life, to heart even as she is disappointed in herself that she cannot do the same for him.

I love the image of Aoshi popping out of the grave and Saito's laconic take on it. I forgot to mention in my last review how much I liked the sweet but persistent way Tomoe addresses Kenshin, letting him know that he will have regrets if he lets himself die now.
I love the way you show Kenshin's complete listlessness, "Morning. Again. Still alive." Having his body automatically take in the water and soup even as his brain couldn't care was another good way to show his deep depression, although at this point depressed or not, he would be so dehydrated as to be hallucinating regardless.

Please don't give up even though your review count is down. It's so good to have a canon RK story and I like how carefully you portrqay the characters. In this chapter, I really liked the scene with Kenshin and Tomoe. Kenshin is so confused and lost here, so much not the in-control, strong spirit we usually see. I love the sense of him fading in and out on reality.

The day begins. It doesn't look particularly special so far, but I expect that will change.

I really should read the manga now that I know where to find the translations online. I only saw the anime as far as they showed it on cable, and they never got to Enishi.

This story is great. What volume is it where Kenshin see's Tomoe? I've been searching for it online but I couldn't find it.

It seems Kenshin may even eat a little. I rather expect that will be necessary if he's going to do anything more than roll over and die.

I think seeing what Aoshi and Saitou will do should be entertaining, but that won't necessarily make it easy to write.

It seems that the night is passing. I rather expect things to pick up once the new day starts. It seems there might be a small chance for our red-haired samurai yet.

I must admit that I watch the shows you mentioned, although I haven't read many fan fics for them. I have attempted to write a little for Naruto, though

I definitely think that someone fed and watered Kenshin while he was in Rakuninmura. No one can survive two weeks without food and water, super swordsman or not.

Still here and still very much appreciating your work. I like your take on Aoshi. I think you've read him very well, and he's a really hard character to get to know. I like the bit with Kenshin and Tomoe, too. I can't help but wonder, though, where Akira is in the afterlife and what he thinks of Tomoe calling Kenshin "my dearest". Hm, trouble in paradise... ;)
