Reviews for Nightwing: The Darkness
Me 4/26/13 . chapter 13
If it was an emotional response you wanted, you definitely got it from me. I believe that this is a superb story with a lot of emotional twists and turns; in another term, I was on the emotional rollercoaster of my life. I just love this story and the 3 others stories of yours that I have read so far. Thank you dearly for uploading such amazing and well thought out stories.
By the way I cried multiple time during this story, I felt for Nightwing/Dick as you could probably tell from all that I have written in this review. Please keep uploading your as stories they are amzing.

Miravisu 12/28/08 . chapter 13
“Revenge serves no purpose, it offers no closure,” Batman had warned him. “Justice allows a society to breathe easy again, to know that there is order out of chaos.”

Well put.

“It was more than that! My life ended in that moment! I wanted die so I could be with her! I want to die now!” Nightwing cried out, throwing the truth out for all to see. “She was my world, don’t you see? The world should have ended with her death…”

*wipes tears and sniffles*

The bone chilling anguish..

However, it felt perhaps a bit too much like a 360 degree spin with the Wayne Island, Lazarus pit and all and the triplets.. but of course, the final scene... br, now that made one remember for sure.

Yet, the darkess in this story, how Jack (of all people) was there to voice his opinion on Richard, so superbly written that.

Well done. I enjoyed this story. Dick is my favorite character, but I always liked the dark side of him. I didn't like the Dick/Babs obsession bit since I'm not a fan but other than that, I liked it. The Cissie/Dick was interesting, I never really thought about that pairing. I liked it. Poor Bart. I was wondering what ever happened to Tim and Cass. Getting married and starting a new life seems reasonable. Nightwing killing Joker is different, well, at least with the Joker not being brought back. I could see Bruce taking the blame, though. I honestly liked the ending. Poor Bat-Mite, he was so innocent. Dick went to hell. As much as I love him, he had it coming. Great job!
Status Quo 4/11/08 . chapter 13
Overall, fairly good. A bit more information about what had happened to the League and other teams would've been nice, as I sometimes felt a bit confused (possibly due to a somewhat limited knowledge of all of that in the present continuity). I'm also not a big fan of the religious overtones, here or in any story for that matter, and as such not a big fan of the ending either. Hinting at characters being religious and trying to deal with things from that perspective is one thing, but basically coming right out and saying that Christianity (although my assumption that it wasn't Judaism or Islam you had in mind is based on circumstantial evidence) is the one true faith is a bit hard for me to swallow. Apart from that though, it was enjoyable and suitably bitter-sweet for my taste.

oh my gosh what a sad ending to the chapter. You need to make a happy ending.
Calen 1/15/07 . chapter 13
I really didn't like that ending. It's like that ending for hellraiser 5. But damn dude, Dick didn't deserve that! Can't you write and sequel and turn him into a Hellspawn, like from that series Spawn! Then he could go back and bust up the earth and heaven!

i LOVE this story, you understand the characters so far, i especially love ur portrayal of the joker in this and ur other stories with the joker in.

You shud do a joker-centric story!
Icha 3/28/05 . chapter 13
Aw... did Nightwing really go to hell in the last paragraph? He didn;t deserve it! He was being a coward for not committing his murder - but it was only ONE murder compared to many others he saved!

How about Obsidian? Did he die or what?

And Bruce? As Clark and Diana did not reveal the truth of Joker's murder case, it means that Bruce was still the convicted. Did he stay in the jail until 2 years before the Wayne Isle commemoration? Or he went free right after Nightwing died? Under the 'custody' of Superman?

Still, a very good story! Congrats!

PS: Thanks for uniting Diana and Bruce in the end. I just vote for their marriage!

Okay, this epic has come to an end and it's certainly a tragic one. Like others have said, I'm not sure I agree with your logic concerning Dick's punishment for his crime (perhaps it's not logic as much as it is personal philosophy), but it's a testament to your writing skills and how you presented the story that made me love it even though I didn't agree with the 'crime and punishment' views presented herein.

Personally, I think Joker deserved to die, a hundred deaths, and I can't see any man or god thinking otherwise, but that being said, how you presented the story and played out the tale (which was indeed consistent with DC and the Bat family's 'never-kill' policy) made for a fantastic and heartbreaking read.

The reveals were expertly done, peeled away in layers like an onion (which, like this story, makes a reader cry). Unlike an onion, however, this story made you think and think hard, about your views on crime and punishment, life and death, and heaven and hell.

This is an angsty story done right.

You win my challenge.

No one else even came close. ;)

The story of the year.

Hey wow what can i say

It was a intresting but sad ending. I still think Dick deserved peace after all these years of carrying the guilt of killing the joker.

But otherwise a great story
