What a sweet story. I've followed it rather sporadically, but I finally read the whole thing and I thought it was nice. There was one line of Estella's that stood out to me, because my mom said almost the same thing, word for word, last night.

“I’d be surprised if it didn’t – but it wouldn’t be worthwhile if it didn’t cause you pain, even at first.”

My mom was actually speaking about our cat, who is rather protective of my nine-year-old brother - even putting himself between a dog and the boy, risking his own neck to save the kid from what he considered in his cat mind "a terrible danger". Dad said we would really miss that cat when his time came, and Mom remarked: "I suppose that means the relationship was worth a lot when you miss it that much" or something like that.

Anyways, that was a cute tale! And it took you a whole year to finish. I commend your perseverence, LOL! :-) I love the ending, where Estella said she wanted many more than one (or two!) kids. As the oldest of five, I know how awesome it is to belong to a big family.
