Ragnelle 2009-11-09 . chapter 1This was hilarious! I have not laughed as much reading a story in a long time.
I would like to give a long, thoughtful review for this because it deserves it, but there is not much more to say than it was brilliant! |
Allyse 2009-07-20 . chapter 1 There are no words how absolutely AWESOME this is. :) |
Londonbard 2009-07-11 . chapter 1 ... and so the Watch will go Mithral-garbed (including Nobby, of course.) This story is brilliant, and I'll be thinking about what happened next all day! |
dreamingmarie 2009-07-11 . chapter 1That was beautiful. I'm not a big fan of Tolkien's, but I loved the parody with Vimes. Great work. |
Gyreflight 2009-06-30 . chapter 1*Grins. A lot.* I loved this. I really, really loved this. It’s one of those crossovers that surely shouldn’t work…and then it absolutely *does*. Mostly, I think, because you obviously like and understand both elements well enough to be able to play around with them and not do either an unkindness.
The dialogue is brilliant, and the byplay is fast, sharp and funny. Vimes was, well, /Vimes/, at his own down-to-earth, practical, unimpressed best – cutting through to the heart of the matter to come through with his usual outside-the-box solution. I enjoyed watching Eonwe and the Feanorians deal with a situation complicated by such a spanner in the works.
All in all, it was a delight to read.
Thanks!

amebane 2009-05-18 . chapter 1I just found this story and I loved it. I didn't know anything about Discworld, so I looked it up on the internet. I'm glad I did. You are a good writer. |
 Gogol 2008-04-06 . chapter 1Hahahaha.
Christ. There are /so many/ lines I want to quote here. Vimes calling the Silmarils the shinies! YOU WERE EXPECTING SOMEONE TALLER?
...but I won't because I do have some restraint. Anyway. This is especially appropriate because I just finished re-reading the Silmarillion a few days ago, and I remember there's a bit where Morgoth's being, hah, arrested, and it goes "...and Morgoth sued for peace and pardon, but was not granted it, and his feet were hewed out from under him," and now I can TOTALLY SEE VIMES DOING THAT. I mean seriously. He's got an axe, right?
So um. Yay for excellent crossover, etc. |
chisscientist 2008-01-19 . chapter 1 A humor fic that is actually funny AND has the characters behaving in character! Very well done. |
Kestrel 2007-09-30 . chapter 1 I read this awhile ago, before I read Pratchett. Now that I'm a Pratchett fan, this is absolutely the best crossover I've read! Of course Vimes would know how to take care of everything. Very good! |
Glemsydoodles 2007-09-04 . chapter 1Love. It. Common logic meeting Tolkien is a wonderful thing...things can get a little grandiose without Vimes around. |
remove me please 2007-06-15 . chapter 1I didn't even know it was possibe to cross these two universes? I mean, Discworld? It's practically what a _real_ Middle-Earth would have been. Excellently done. Vimes is quite in-characater, practical ('cause he's a copper) and willing to arrest anybody (also because he's a copper).
Congratulations. I thought a crossover of this sort was impossible. |
BekaJWP 2007-05-13 . chapter 1I can't believe you did a Silmarillion/Pratchett fic... and so very well... isn't that against the laws of the internets or something? Fabulous fic! |
Gileonnen 2007-05-13 . chapter 1This is wonderful--Discworld lends itself well to crossovers, but the Silmarillion does not, and that makes it even more to your credit to have successfully crossed the two. It was wise to use Pratchett's language in preference to Tolkien's; it made the material both accessible and hilarious. Excellent, excellent work! |
 Eruvadhril 2007-05-13 . chapter 1 Brava! *applauds* |
Draco the Lizard 2007-05-13 . chapter 1 Oh, wow, but this works WONDERFULLY. |
