hm...presumably she goes to the hospital, has been identified; would her 'next of kin' ie Joyce be notified?
Oddly enough, I believe the "they don't hate you" line--she got yelled at by the scoobies on the show when she returned after 3 or so months of being gone; in this AU she's been gone so long it should be clear that she's "broken" & they probably would have a different attitude. I feel sorries for Joyce in this alternate, she's been alone for what 2 years now?... and she did say "don't ever come back..."
If Dawn gets created, she'd be Faith's sister now, wouldn't she? ie the 'active slayer'?... or possibly the monks aren't "up" on this sort of thing and the spell would still send Dawn to Buffy's family...

It might be interesting if Buffy, getting back into being a slayer, just went to LA and worked for/with Angel...
