If this story hasn't won an award yet, I think it should! Chapter 11 made me cry, the whole storyline is pure brilliance, I love your writing, getting everyone down pat, just...just...just...Wow! *adds to faves*

Also ich muss sagen, anfänglich war ich ein wenig irritiert von der Geschichte, einfach durch die Tatsache, dass es mir so unrealistisch vorkam, dass ein Mensch für neun Jahre im Ozean leben kann und "Delphinisch" spricht, aber dann, nachdem ich immer weiter und weiter gelesen hab ist mir schließlich klar geworden, dass das eigentlich überhaupt keine Rolle spielt, sondern es sich hier um eine Geschichte handelt in der es um Emotionen und Beziehungen geht. Und dies bezüglich hast du wirklich großartige Arbeit geleistet.
Ich hab das Buch nie gelesen und war (vielleicht auch glücklicherweise) nicht voreingenommen, allerdings hast du nun mein Interesse so sehr daran geweckt, dass ich es gerne einmal lesen würde.
Ich weiß also nicht wie viel von Karen Hesse in deiner Geschichte mit eingeflossen ist, aber nichts desto trotz kann ich mit Bestimmheit sagen, dass es dir sehr gut gelungen ist etwas auf einen Fremdautor basierendes zu deinem eigenen zu machen.
Dein fesselnder Stil hat bewirkt, dass ich die Geschichte in einem Stück gelesen habe und gar nicht aufhören konnte (und es hat immerhin mehrere Stunden gedauert bis ich durch war ;) )

Ich bin sehr beeindruckt von deiner Arbeit und kann dir nur versichern, dass sie in hohen Maße von mir honoriert wird.

Um, sequal? You did leave details open for a sequal.. did Bridger keep his job? Did Lucas stay when he found out things might be changing? Did things ever go back to normal, or did Lucas face new challenges? Did Bridger ever tell the UEO to go stick it, and keep the submarine? That would be a cool sequal.. Did anyone try to kidnap or take Lucas legally or illegally because of his 'childhood'? We all know the UEO wasn't very smart when it comes to letting human beings live their own lives.. did they ever try to interfere and study Lucas because of his 'childhood'? It would be so awesome if you could do a sequal, maybe in the sequal, Tony could come in and Lucas could get gills :) Hehe, you got so many options for a sequal! OH I just thought up another question, did he e ever improve the vocorder to speak fluent dolphin and not just babytalk? That would be SO COOL! Ok, it was an awesome story, and I'm STILL WAITING FOR THE SEQUAL!

Sheela, I wrote to you about Dolphins Tears when you were still putting up a chapter at a time... I was revisiting it tonight, and I wondered if you had ever considered writing a sequal. I mean, now that you have Lucas' special 'gift' to work with, you have an opportunity for some awesome plots. This is AU enough that you can take this in an entirely different direction than anyone has ever taken with SQ. You have such a great story line, and I just enjoyed the story so much, that I wanted to encourage you to continue to write. I would not want you to feel that I am pushing you, but please consider writing the sequal... I am sure you would have many people that would be interested in it.

I started reading this way back when, and never got a chance to finish it. I'm so glad I did! I never read the book this was based on, but it still resonated for me. A lot longer than I usually have patience for, but you developed your versions of the characters so well that I kept coming back. Very, very good job!

WoW! Pretty cool the way you integrated the two stories, everything makes sense. But I agree, the ending did kinda suck. It's all good though...
