I'd like to begin by saying happy 21st birthday! You're an old time fanfic writer. I hope that in four years, I'll still be as dedicated as you. ^^;
I like this story, one shot though it may be. It really is the perfect prequel to any of your Aoshi/Makoto stories. I really like the theme of Makoto's doubt about her being a "monster" and how she copes with it. I've seen it in your stories before and you always seem to find a new, original, and emotional way to express it through warm friendships and heart to heart talks. Keep it up, eh?
BTW, Makoto makes a cute eight year old. Too bad there aren't many fics with her as a child out there (or rather, fics out there portrayed as a child and IN character). If you could manage to find a one shot like this out before June, you could consider it *my* birthday present. ^__^; Happy birthday, M.A.!

Very good! It isn't often I see Mako-chan portrayed as a child and you did a great job with it. I especially enjoyed the interaction between her and young Aoshi. Keep up the good work.
