This fic is taking a look at things from a very new angle -- I've never seen this premise worked on before. The story itself is simple, but elegant: it's not exactly action-packed, fast-paced or filled with drama. Nevertheless, I found it to be a pleasure to read; you've done a good job of fleshing the characters out.

Not only only do Frodo's, Freddy's, and Folco's names all begin with F, but their surnames all begin with B! How often do you find two friends with your own initials? [Actually, my brother's two best friends in high school -- and not only did they have the same last initial, but all were named Jim.]
Also, as you may or may not be aware, Frodo's mother Primula's mother's brother Hildibrand's granddaughter is Freddy's mother. That makes Frodo and Freddy's mother second cousin. Frodo and Freddy are second cousins once removed. [Freddy is actually twelve years younger than Frodo.]
Freddy is third cousin to both Merry and Pippin.

I like this and I'm really intrigued as to what will happen next. Oh God that sounded so stupid, didn't it?

This is a wonderful beginning to a story. Frodo's feelings about Buckland vs. Hobbiton are very logical and well written. (One tiny error is that, if Frodo just came to Hobbiton, Pippin is just an infant. But I suppose even an infant Took can get into mischief!) I look forward to seeing where you go with this.
