The happy ending to this one, and the notes at the end made me laugh. Well done.

I would have liked to see Celeborn before Manwe - and finding
out the Elder King isn't quite what he expected. And wouldn't
it be a hoot if you went with my notion that Gandalf is Manwe - or let me write it ;)

Your characterization of Celeborn is wonderful, and it's great to see a story centred more around him as opposed to Galadriel. It makes me appreciate even more what a clever and wonderful elf Celeborn is :D

I really enjoyed your insights into the culture shock of arriving in the undying lands (that's something you certainly don't see covered much!) and the plot device about bringing the elf clans together on a project... although I was getting a little worried in the middle that there might not be a happy ending!

Thank you so much for writing this.

Gorgeous! Love the tie-in to the Smith of Wotton Major. Would you consider writing something on Celebrian and Elrond?

Space ships? In Valinor?! Free elves?!
YES!
I see Galadriel in the charge of cirilmarin, trips to the other worlds, ant star wars...
It's what I dreamed of, since the moment I read the last sentence of Silmarillion? I ever began to write a fic about war - Valinor&Arda vs malicious aliens. It is in Russian, and it will take time to translate it, but someday I will post it here.

PS. Sorry for my poor English... I am at the class now, and there is no Lingvo :(

Thanks for the review, Chopper. Glad you liked it!

In 'Laws and Customs of the Eldar' it says that the Halls of Mandos are a *temporary* thing for elves. The natural thing for elves is to be alive, and when they die, they go to Mandos, are healed of their psychological wounds, repent of their sins, and as soon as that's done, they are rehoused and sent back into the world.

Tolkien states in the Silm that Finrod has been re-housed and now walks beside his father in Valinor. And there's every possibility that Glorfindel is the same Glorfindel as the Gondolin one.

So it seemed to me quite possible that other people should also have completed their term of healing in Mandos.

Fingolfin, after all, took part in the Kinslaying *by mistake*, so it would be unjust to deny him a return. Celebrimbor is the only one who's pushing it a bit, but even he did what he did mostly by mistake, and there's a suggestion that he stayed and faced Sauron as a form of reparation - which would lead to him having his time in Mandos shortened.

The idea that once an elf is in Mandos they stay there until the end of the world - that's a fanon idea. It's not what Tolkien said.

And having said all that, I'm delighted that you liked it anyway :) Thanks!

Oh My GOD. I was totally blown away. It's so incredibly excellent!

But I find it kind of hard to believe that Fingolfin, Celebrimbor, Oropher, Amroth, Amdir, Dior and even Elu Singollo could have been reincarnated.

That's not supposed to happen until the Great End, when all spirits of Mandos are released and given bodily forms.

But I know for a fact that Celebrimbor and Fingolfin would not have been reincarnated because of the Kinslaying that Fingolfin took part in, and because of the knowledge of how to create the Rings of Power that Celebrimbor gave Annatar.

Oh well, I suppose all that makes the story better.

My goodness! That was amazing and incredibly enjoyable!

Loved the argument between G and C - very like Galadriel. Whatever it is, she doesn't want it until she thinks she can't have it, and then she wants it badly.

:') What a wonderful end to this great fic! I just read it for the second time.
It's great you described Galadriel's feelings there so much. It was very touching when she finally realised he really does love her.
And the mallorn seeds! That was a great thing!
Too bad it ended... :) I'll look forward for new fics from you!

*sighs* So this story is over. It's sad to see it end, but it ended perfectly. This story seems a lot more "realistic" than the stories that have Galadriel hanging over the side of the docks, ready to fall into Celeborn's arms the minute his foot hits Eldamar. This is much more in accordance with their personalities. I would have reviewed before now, but I just figured out how to review. *blushes* Sorry.

I love your Celeborn. I always felt sorry for how overshadowed he was by Galadriel (especially in the movies), and I'm glad that you've taken what Tolkien told us and painted a beautiful character. I think Tolkien would have appreciated your characterization of Celeborn.

I would offer constructive criticism, but I don't have anything to say. It's just--perfect.

Thank you so much for this story, and I hope I can read many more of your works in the future!

You have a real talent to paint a picture with words. Well done.
Elvenson 2004-10-04 . chapter 8
amazing chapter once again, i especially loved the idea of Finrod peaking in on their conversation, nice little humor there.By the way how did you come to the conclusion of 10,0 years as being the time span Celeborn lived still in the world?
AmberRose 2004-10-03 . chapter 8
The End?! No! This is one of the best fanfictions I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Both Author and Story go to favorites.

*hee* I loved Finrod peeping at them. And perfect, he brought seeds with him. Really great compromise for them at the end! They get to leave, but stay. YAY!
