The whole 'can vampires love?' and the soul thing is interesting.. I think they can love... 'cause in the end it's got nothing to do with the soul.. it's more about the mind..

I know they've got a Plan, but those vamps reminded me of a James Bond villain: "No, don't kill her yet; give her another chance to foil our plans." :-) But that's an accepted convention and not really a bad thing; besides, Buffy's made the same mistake, herself.
