Simply charming. The Silmarillion plus fairy tales is love, and you did it in such a way that I didn't realise what you were going about until the end. Your Melkor is delicious, as are all your characterisations, and your humour is nicely structured, not the random sort of MONKEYS! CHEESE! EXPLOSIONS! variety that seems to perpetuate hereabouts. This is a tale to be read over again. Well done.

Too funny. Just WAY too funny.

I found this a very enjoyable break from all the Feanor angst that seems to dominate Silm fics. Loved your portrayal of Feanor and Nerdanel, and the appearance of Melkor. *snicker*

Thanks for the review, BTW.

LOL! It's the only Feanor/Nerdanel story I've ever read which manages to make me like them both. What a treasury of good things! Loved Melkor as the Valar-in-black-leather fairy godfather. Loved Nerdanel's shoe obsession, but I was glad to see that she normally wears good practical hiking boots. 'All you dark haired people look the same to me' was my standout line in terms of laughing out loud. I don't know why; it's just such an outrageous thing to say, and at least it addresses the issue of why she doesn't recognise his face, unlike the source material.

Loved it! It deserves more reviews.

Is Nerdanel the sort of girl who would sacrifice orthopedic health for style? Then again, perhaps elves, like hobbits, just weren't very good at making shoes, and those glass slippers actually felt good in comparison to the normal fare. After all, Idril went barefoot and it is known that Galadriel, in compensation for pigeon-toes, made out-pointing shoes quite popular among the elven maidens of Tirion.
And poor Indis! You say nothing about the poor, suffering wife with the wicked step-child. Your tale reflects the unfortunate Noldorinization of Tirion's public school system during the latter half of the Seventh Age. Without the diversifying influence of Vanyarin and Telerin source material, one cannot expect students to view history in any manner other than with the narrow Arda-view presented by Noldorin historians.

A very amusing little story. Especially the last episode with Indis finding them in the forge.

Love this! Stupidly enough, I was completely unprepared for Melkor's appearance, but it made sense. The imperfectly evil fairy godfather...
A pity Cinderella and her prince didn't live happily ever after, but such is Arda.

Ha ha! Brilliant as usual. You should try to do more Silmarillion fairy tales. This was a really fun read - good job!
Itarille 2004-05-17 . chapter 1
This is a very funny; I love the idea of Feanor as Cinderella. Indis is hilarious, too.

very cute Silm Cinderalla story. I like Melkor best as the inept goth fairy godfather.
