rock4ever 2005-10-22 . chapter 1interesting. i like it! keep writing more grima fics! |
Friagabi 2005-03-07 . chapter 1Wow!
Eowyn is my fav LotR character and though my diff. vision bout her AND bout Grima I loved this story - it's touching + alive!
BTW, also Grima is one of my beloved characters - sneaky & sly ...;) |
Sevlow 2005-02-27 . chapter 1I'm... speechless. That was amazing. I can't believe that you could create such an atmosphere and feeling with so short a fic. And you say this is your first one?! WTF!? This, my dearest Verse, is beautiful. *gives standing ovation* |
Gracie Jane 2005-01-11 . chapter 1"At her touch he wavered like a flame, uncertain as to whether he should move closer or step back, but unable to endure the current distance between them."
That's a beautiful line. What a great fic! It's so sad, almost yearning really - awesome stuff. :)
Rock on!

duj 2005-01-02 . chapter 1Wonderful fleshing-out of Grima. |
purplerebecca 2004-11-23 . chapter 1Col.
Fantastic dialogue.
"He envisioned himself as the new husband whose wife would sooner face death than his touch, his despair almost a physical presence in the room." That kind of thing must hurt very badly. |
ElvenPirate41 2004-07-15 . chapter 1Oh. Well, I just noted that "Payment" was just uploaded today, so I couldn't have read it before. Hm... it did seem awfully familiar. Oh well.
"He envisioned himself as the new husband whose wife would sooner face death than his touch, his despair almost a physical presence in the room." Wow, that line is amazing, as is this: "Our armies would break themselves on the swords of their enemies for the hope of the touch of your hands."
Very, very beautiful. Poor Grima!

Serenn 2004-06-20 . chapter 1I really liked this. Very skillful work, it keeps you in Grima's mind and makes you sympathetic to a very unsympathetic character. Nicely done!
Write more! |
Evenstar Elanor 2004-05-20 . chapter 1very touching... like the previous reviewer, "It is typical for the young to pity the young." is very poignant. u portray Grima in a sympathetic way, which is something most ppl do not do. everyone has a good and a bad side. Grima has been corrupted, yes, but he is not altogether completely evil. they both seem very intelligent, and real. i like the comparison 2 the young maiden song. it really puts Grima in a different light. one that he needs to see more often... very good |
Doris the Younger 2004-05-20 . chapter 1Very good! Not many people bother with characterizations, especially for villains or non-sex objects.
The dialogue between Grima and Eowyn both rings true, and makes them both sound intelligent. Yay!
The insight about "the young pity the young" was very poignant. (I'm no spring chicken, either, so I empathize.)
Nice to see a writer with a vocabulary.

Erestor 2004-05-20 . chapter 1You have certainly begun your career in fanfiction very well. You've written about something sort of different, and you've written about it very, very well. I enjoy stories that make me feel sorry for someone I would usually dislike.
.
First of all, I liked the setting. Though it seemed more likely for Eowyn to sing of some blood-thirsty battle, you managed to make her choice of song take on an important role. Eowyn's feelings towards Grima were handled extremely well; I liked the way you showed that she was both attracted and repulsed by the man. And Grima's feelings for Eowyn were also well portrayed.
.
Secondly, the language was beautiful, as well as the dialogue. It did not feel jerky or modern. This part of LotR fanfiction is often a stumbling block to writers.
.
Thirdly, this wasn't just a short, pointless scene, but a moving and thought-provoking story. It was very good. Write more and may all your stories be as great as this one! |
TigerLily713 2004-05-20 . chapter 1Skillfully written! I await more! Lily. |
