Reviews For: Franklin's Call
P.I.D 2005-02-09 . chapter 1
Ahh...don't you just love our nation's giant problem with religion? In our nation, states can attempt to include "Intelligent Design" in the text books of public schools, but a little children's show chose to avoid a wonderful speech because it's on the subject of religion. It's so contradictory.
This speech is wonderful and the fanfic very well written. However, I (as I have already demonstrated) believe that this speech's absense was no oversight. In today's society the subject of religion is still as raw as ever. The producers probably decided it was wisest to leave it out of Liberty's Kids, and it's just as well they did. As someone without strong religious beliefs I wouldn't really have minded religion subject matter. But I know plenty of people who would have blown their tops if Liberty's Kids so much as flirted with the subject of religion.

I know why they didn't put it in the show. One, it'sa little too long. Two, Franklin talks about seeking God's help. Personly, I liked his speech.

I can see why they didn't put this speech in the show. It's too long for a 30 minute show and kids under 12. Also, with a show that praises diveristy on a channel that praises diversity, a speech about finding Divine Guidance ma y seem offensive to some.
