Wonderful story. Loved how Max met with Rory, who's very intriguing.

Great Story!

I really enjoyed your Series about Max giving into the darker side of her nature and I thought I'd re-read it all over again. Rory is a good character because it makes sense that at least one X5 decides that with their gifts, they can make a real difference in the country as a vigilante, he's believeable.

Too tired to leave a *real* review. Still reading, though. :)

It's after 1 AM, so I'm not so coherent, but I can say this chapter was good. Nice philosophizing on Rory's part. LOL, between him and Logan, it's kind of like the universe is trying to tell Max something, isn't it?

Hey, someone recommended this fic, so I'm checking it out. S1 fics are like gold to me now. :) Great action sequence, interesting setup with Norton Koch and the "ninja," and great touch of Max thinking Logan is cute when he worries about her.

Very well written so far. It's nice to see some action in a sea of romance fics. I really hope, however, that Max's little ninja suit did not include the cloak. I really couldn't buy the two of them skulking around with capes flowing! I'm also disappointed that you decided to have Max use a gun. I respect her character for choosing to not "do guns" and I feel you slipped slightly when you chose to have her go back on her principles this way.

Very good. Great amount of action, and it's interesting how max has a search for self identity and what she wants to do with her life and the abilities she was born with.

best story ever

an interesting twist in the saga of Max Guevara. she could certainly slip into the role of Avenging Angel well. but her job @JamPony humanizes her, even though you most likely consider it demeaning considering her skills and training. (there would be no use/place for the JP gang if she decided to change jobs as you describe it. as much as I like the "super" side of Max, I prefer seeing the sides of her that Manticore tried so hard to eradicate. she doesn't sound like the Max who needs Logan, who imo is her Other half. this route is a very lonely road, like Bruce Wayne/Batman's. good, well-written story but it's cold.

First of all, a really well-developed world you've got here. So much so that I'm pretty much going to have to review this from two perspectives: the DA universe as it's presented to us on the show, and the one you've created. In terms of the one you've created, it's very intriguing. Believable characters and a creative premise. Though I think (and this view is completely influenced by the fic I'm working on now) that Max might be a little more cautious when she first meets Rory; not that any of her actions would really change, but she might be a little more uneasy about it. I think it adds depth (and strength) to her character that she's not always completely confident. But that's just me. In terms of the show's world, this seems very different; not necessarily contradictory, just different. I'll be curious to see how Max's new persona fits in with the rest of her life, which I assume you're working on in the sequel. I'd criticise the Star Wars reference but I haven't been able to avoid it myself. :) One thing that bugged me: the guns. I like big explosions as much as the next person, but I think it's cool that Max doesn't use guns, that she doesn't need to. Makes her more self-sufficient, I think. Anyway, I enjoyed reading this; you have a nice flair for the action scenes and in general it all flowed very well. I'll be tuning in for the sequel.
