This could be a really good story. The only thing is that all the characters seem Mary-Sueish, all the girls come across as being perfect. And some of their speech doesn't always sound realistic. "I see that we

will be working together as prefects, my congratulations" for an example - just doesn't really sound natural.

But I like your plot so far, although I haven't read very much!

Anyway, there are 12 OWLs, I'll try to think of classes: Astronomy, Acient Runes, Potions, Transfiguration, Divination, Charms, Herbology, History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Care of Magical Creatures...I've run out. As usual, I'm wayy too late to be telling you this, but it might come in handy...and anyway, I just wanted to tell you what I think. Lily SHOULD get all 12 OWLs, because she worked harder than anyone else. And plus that, she reminds me of Hermione...if you get my drift...XDD

Well, that was very interesting... Is it because James was liking Lily and then Rita went into Hogsmeade with James and he never spoke to him again? It was a little obvious, or at least it seemed like that, but I might be wrong. :) Sorry for the stupid reviewer/reader...you're working hard on these stories and if they don't appreciate that then they dhould get over it and get a life...or a hobby...or SOMETHING.. synonyms for serious: grave, somber, severe, staid, sober, unsmiling, humorless, stern, grim. I know this is obviously too late, since (most likely) your entire story is out. But if you happen to read this, then you have your synonyms(thank MS Word, lol) XD
