| chipsnopotatoes 2008-04-22 ch 1, | abuseoh, i'm glad someone had the good sense to write this story (and write it well, mind you). I can really empathize with Andromache and how much she wants to wring sissy little Paris's neck. That was my feeling too when i watched the movie :) I particularly loved this line: "though I would rather flee to Mount Ida and tend the boy’s former flocks than endure his company. Would he had remained attached to them rather than gamboling after another woolly lamb!" |
| LazyChestnut 2008-03-08 ch 1, | abuseI have no idea how I could have missed this! I am ashamed. This. Is. WONDERFUL! I ADORE this! I only wish it could have been longer :( I always love the way you write Andromache; you have her perfectly in character, as always ;) I adore your descriptions, and I really just love the way this was written. Beautiful! C'est magnifique! |
| Apollo's Priestess 2008-01-11 ch 1, | abuseWow. That was intense. I knew Andromache didnt like Paris but i didnt know how deeply she hated him. but then again it is basically his fault that she lost Hector and Astyanax, so i guess i see why she feels that way. This oneshot was so beautiful and at the same time sorrowful. I would think that it was Andromache herself writing it. I love the way you wrote her. You are an awesome writer, and i have only read this oneshot. So i like this alot. ~*AP*~ |
| Kitoky 2007-11-30 ch 1, | abuseOh my gosh. Quite honestly the best Andromache-fic I've ever read. GREAT job. I think I may love your Andromache than all others. |
| CK4 2005-03-30 ch 1, | abuseBeautifully written. |
| Brandywine 2004-10-14 ch 1, anon. | abuseI have read this for a long time ago but I think that I never gave any comment about it, not lengthy at least. This is very beautifully written, and I love the way how you have described Andromache´s feelings, not only for Paris but also for her husband (“Love, Honor, and Respect. … What rules Hector. |
| Sierra Nicole 2004-09-01 ch 1, | abuseLet me add myself to the numbers of people who are singing your praises for this beautiful piece of work. I've been avoiding the Troy fandom ever since the movie came out, afraid of what horrid examples of Paris- (coughORlandocough) and Achilles- (coughBradcough) worship I'd find, but this came highly recommended from several folks whose "picky" tastes in fanfic I share, and what a gem! Really, this is well-concieved and executed, thank you. ~Sierra |
| Elektra3 2004-09-01 ch 1, | abuseLovely, lovely. And here I was, starting to lose hope that there were *any* decent stories in the Troy fandom. Thanks! |
| R E Rakel 2004-08-28 ch 1, anon. | abuseFinally, Andromache hates Paris, the way it should be. Everyone seems to think she should hate Achilles for killing Hector, but she ahte Paris and his utter selfishness. I hate him, probably not as Andromache does but almost there. Beautifully written as always from you, it was good to read something from Androamches point of view that could justify her righteous hatred. Make sense? Who knows. I loved it excellent writting, Take care. Andromache and Hector forever. I'm so childish. |
| Miss-Andromache 2004-08-13 ch 1, | abuseThat was fantastic. Your descriptions create vivid pictures in my minds eye and that's what a good story should always do. Well done |
| Cotton Blossom 2004-08-11 ch 1, | abuseWow. This was absolutly amazing. It's so rare to see good writing in this fandom. |
| Cassandra Anthemyst 2004-08-11 ch 1, | abuseI'm ashamed to say that, though you reviewed my story ages ago, it's taken this long to get back to you. I'm hoping that you can forgive my procrastinating ways as I move on to the actual review: *Gasp* This is beautiful. You say it's movie-verse, but I'd say it fits into the Homeric OU quite well-I understood it perfectly, and I haven't even seen the movie. Anyway, it's a beautiful narrative, and a great analysis of what was probably going through Andromache's mind. Kudos! |
| Vesica 2004-07-15 ch 1, | abuseThank you SO much for this!! I had to go through pages and pages of Helen/Paris, Achilles/Brisies, and even *shudder* Hector/Paris to find this jewel of a fic. Fabulous details from the actual texts the movie was based on. You paint a lovely portrait of the relationship between Hector and Andromache. This fandom needs more stories like this - emotionally powerful without being maudlin, tight in their grammar and punctuation, and, most importantly, accurate to the culture and time period in which they are set. You may have single-handedly redeemed my faith in this fandom and re-lit the spark of my love for the Good 'Ship Hector/Andromache, bobbing in the blue of the Aegean. ~Vesica |
| jaimie 2004-06-15 ch 1, anon. | abusei never really thought much of andromache's thoughts after hector's death. this was really beautiful. |
| Violet Blues 2004-06-01 ch 1, | abuseThis was great! I enjoyed it thoroughly. -Violet |
