Well, let me correct you on a few points here...this is certainly not stupid, and I for one don't see a reason why you shouldn't do fics like that ;-). It's absolutely wonderful. I haven't seen Moulin Rouge, so I don't know the song, but I could quite easily picture the rest of the scene.
