Tysoyo Kalli 2004-12-01 . chapter 2I read this a long while ago, but I don't think I ever really reviewed for it. *shrugs* I like it, though I am a very strong CrawfordxSchuldig lover, but this was an interesting concept, espically your Farfarello, for the short little pieces he was it. He was very intelligant, just as I've always imagined him. I also enjoyed the way he jumped from the boat after making Schuldig promise him, and it is true that you shouldn't break a promise to a dying man. Its almost as though Farf was in a sense, inlove with Schuldig with the way he talked to him on the boat, and it showed that he had a heart, no matter how dark it was. I'm going to continue this little arc and see waht else theres is! |
annakas 2004-09-04 . chapter 2This was beautiful. Warfs death made me sad. Loved the kitten and it is sweet that Schuldig and Nagi took the cat with them and named him after Farf.
I felt sorry for Brad now he is all alone but I understand why Schuldig and Nagi had to leave. |
Nony 2004-06-17 . chapter 2 (E, either FF.net ate the open quote on the line below or you need to spank your beta.)
"'I'll remember better, Farf, if you were here to remind me.'" Part of me wants to "see" Schu's reaction to what he knows is about to happen next. Part of me thinks that the exposition would kill the momentum of the moment. Dunno which is right, really. I think it's good though that you didn't foreshadow the props, so your readers share Schu's sudden horror when he realizes what Farf has actually done.
The "He's dead, Brad. I saw him die myself" paragraph is one of my favorites in this section. In just a few short sentences you work your strengths and drive home your points. See, you don't have to go on and on to say what you need! *wink*
Found another spanking for your beta too, but since it's parallelism, I'm pretty sure no one else but a grammar geek would notice. *rolls eyes at self* Eh, gotta go. Ja ne! |
Nony 2004-06-17 . chapter 1 "Once Crawford had seen the object of their concentration, he had gotten a glimpse of the kitten's future. It had irritated him that his gift occasionally squandered itself on such inconsequential things, so he spread the aggravation around." Another example of your strong characterization. Very Crawfordesque if you ask me (but you probably shouldn't *sweatdrop*), although I hesitate to grant him the self-awareness required to notice such a petty trait in himself. Perhaps he rationalizes his action away. I can see that.
FARFIE! Sorry, couldn't resist. His singular yet enigmatic concentration is very yay. No, not Gay. YAY. And creepy!Farf eyeing Schu's nape... squee! Also, rereading makes me notice all kinds of foreshadowing that I missed before. Multi-dimensional writing and subtlety is very yay, too. I don't know why I went to this one before tackling "Love Match," but I'll get to that one in a bit. Holding off on "Opening Doors" til this weekend. *wink* Ja ne! |
balinese 2004-06-07 . chapter 2 How could you kill poor farfarello?!? well i liked the story anyway but I think crawford wasn't right ... dunno why he seemed jus wrong to me
keep writing |
Black Kitten's Dream 2004-06-07 . chapter 2You... killed... FARFIE?!? =O_O= How could you?!... Okay, now I know what happened to him and it's really cute to name the kitten after him but... How could you! *cries bitterly*... Ah, now I'm very eager to read a new chapter of Opening Doors. Really loved it, good work! Black Kitten |
Fancy 2004-05-30 . chapter 2This was great! It was a really good look into all of the various personalities in Schwartz. Er... I don't really have much else to say about it. I liked the extended kitten metaphor (if you could call it a metaphor. I dunno WHAT to call it, actually). I think it stands well alone, but I'd be very happy to see it continued, as well! =) The only thing that grated a little was Farfarello's accent. I mean, I realize that he's Irish, and I think you wrote it well, but I'm just not used to seeing it. So, that's not a BAD thing--just a thing. Anyway, overall this was lovely, and I enjoyed it. |
