This story is positively brill! I wasn't quite certain which universe you were writing in, initially but that wasn't really a problem as I got to discover Arda with Simpson and his crew. This is going on my favorites list!

This is one of the best stories I have ever read. The plot it awesome! And everything seemed so real. It made my heart ache...

A lovely tale, even if it is a sad one. Reminded me of just how much we take for granted, and how frail the world really is. Sometimes we wish things were gone, other times that things were back, but it's never in our hands to make it happen, is it? Greater waves mold fortune...

Well, I loved the beginning.. the way you start with the sun's perspective.. very original, and it gave a wonderful flow to the story-telling ahead. Your descriptions were just perfect.

I've read some other stories mixing modern times, well I should say *future* times, with Arda - How would it be in the distant future and how would others look upon it - but never quite like this, always more entertaining than anything else.

You got me thinking, my praises for that! I shall remember your story.

I think they should go and look for a planet that is similar to middle-earth. Who knows maybe in the next decade or century we will find a planet that in like ours. Or worse., maybe in the near future we WILL Become nmiddle-earth plante or we will be able to reach another galaxy that has life unlike ours. It could be possible, with the use of medical sience we shall find another galxy. Very good writing, however there in nothing more i can say.

This was absolutely stunning!

The only thing that bugged me was of how fast they figured out that this planet was Arda. Perhaps you should move that a bit later in the story, at the time when they discovered the white tree. But this might be a personal thing, so feel free to ignore me.

Also, it seemed to me like too much of a coincidence that they landed just outside Minas Tirith. They could have as well landed nest to Mount Doom. Perhaps a couple of lines that their instuments showed the remnants of some city structure and they decided to land there might fix this. Again, this comes from a die-hard Star Trek fan and my views might be affected by this little vice of mine.

Apart from the above, which are really details, I'm totally in love with this story. I think that it is the most original story I've read in ages.

wow Laire. that was, (in my opinion) the best, most original fanfiction I've ever read. I loved your descriptions, it was almost like I was there...descovering the long lost Middle-Earth. 'twas like a movie, really... a breathtaking, stunning film, capturing fantastic views that only your brilliant mind could imagin. you know, this could be continued if you wanted it to be... the crew could discover more places in M-E... it's great how it is though. just an idea :P

you could be an author, you know. that's how good you are. if you ever do get something published, let me know ASAP so I can run and buy the whole stock. :P

Great story! Are you sure that Smith guy isn't really a girl named Suvi? - I like it! I liked how in the begining you were using what the sun would see as your opening.

I saw your post on HA and came to check this story out. This is great! It's a great new idea and I love it. I have no constructive criticism. I know I sound like a complete fangurl right now, but please, make this into a full-blown story. It is good as a stand-alone, but I need to know more!
