This story is so GOOD! And it's something that could really happen in the movie. If it were that long, of course. :P

I loved it! I have been working backstage on a production of BatB and this is the ending that never was, but really should have been.

Any who, I'm looking foreward to reading all your FF, as I am a Beauty and the Beast fan to the utmost (And I went through the same phase as your daughter... for, like, the first five or six years of my life! :P)

I LOVED what The Enchantress did to Gaston.This would have been a better ending than the movie.(Seriously,why does Disney seem to only like killing their villians off?This would have made them create a better sequel than "The Enchanted Christmas" and that stupid "Belle's Magical World" series!)OK, rant over.I'm going to read the sequel now!

That was really very beautifully written. I enjoyed the twists that resulted in a not-so-happily-ever-after for everyone. I hope Gaston can be changed as a human, and learn to be more compassionate, a better person. I really loved your characterization of the enchantress, too. A refreshingly good take on a classic and over-done story. Congrats!

P.S.- have you read Robin Mckinley at all? She's written two Beauty and the Beast alterations, called "Beauty" and "Rose Daughter." Both are exceedingly well-written (as are all her works), and are wonderful adaptations. All BATB fans shoud read them. Also, "Beast" by Donna Jo Napoli is a fantastic retake on the tale from the Beast's point of view- only now he's a prince from Persia who has violated a sacred law to earn his curse, and he becomes a lion. Also a great story. I hope you get around to reading them sometime. Enjoy! I'm off to read "A Man of Stature"...
