Sky Samuelle 2004-10-17 . chapter 2Intensely slytherin Harry you got there, I adored the description of his character and the Shackebolt's study of him. I'm deeply angry for how Dumbledork is handling this mess, saving the Harry's life but basically isolating him from the ones who love him and destabilizing his already shaky emotional health. It's very irresponsible and ruthless of him...
I've almost cried when Harry talked to Sirius... touching story.
Update soon! |

 gallandro-83 2004-07-28 . chapter 1I forgot some things.
I will say that the other characters from the beginning of chapter two are very unique as well.
I find it odd that Ron isn't oppening Hermione's letters. That is the impression that I gathered. I also find it odd that Ginny is so snappish. I mean just what is she upset over, are you shooting for the same pairings we are begining to see in FP or what. And just when will we see Draco and all our other characters emerge, or will they only appear randomly and behind the scene's since this isn't ment to be the longer of your stories.
I find it odd that every one of the Order members seems to be careful of their words. I mean just how paranoid is Dumbledoor that it seems every conversation that is happening ties into something that is supposed to be kept secret?

ps. the idea of a terified Dudley with a rash is so entertaining. |
 gallandro-83 2004-07-28 . chapter 2I love it.
O just what did Harry do during his day off, I am assuming that he actually never made it to the park but what do I know.
Kakaroff is a very interesting character. I personally like what you have done, although I will say that his personality is completly different then I would have envisioned myself. When I read the books, I only thought of him as gaining the Headmaster postion more on politcal clout then anything else. He just seemed like a mindless sycophant, who knew the right thing to say and the right people to say it too. His new power and cunning is very interesting, and I can see where you can create the character, which makes it more enjoyable in my mind since it is an easy parrallel but one that I didn't see myself.
I would also like to compliment you on how easily you have all of Harry's slytherin qualities surface during this summer. I can imagine that he is using it as a shield, it comes out now that he feels backed into a corner.
I will state that I find it a little odd that most of this story seems to come from a second party standpoint. It makes for an interesting read on what Harry is feeling. I can't wait to see what his new response and reactions to Dumbledoor are. And if all the facts that he has gathered are true then I imagine that Dumbledoor has lost Harry's support. I am surprised that Harry isn't breaking out a little more. I would think that if he is feeling so disgruntled with Dumbledoor he would take some more actions to insinuate just how mad he is. I can see this already in his sarcastic and insincere additudes, but if he starts adopting this into his own appearence then what will happen.
I am concerned about one thing. How will harry survive the summer without any funds. I imagine that the utillities would be due soon (though the thought of running them up and sticking the Dursley's with late fees up the kester is an amusing concept)
I also wonder how he will procure food now that it seems he won't be allowed to leave the house, and since he doesn't have any muggle money and it is doubtful the Order could opperate in muggle society.
The enormous dog is an interesting development. I am thinking of magical creatures, and the fact that Kakaroff recognized the thing makes it a limited exercise. I would wonder if it is Moony who has somehow done something rash that has changed the nature of his Lycanthropy. I also wonder if it is some form of Gryffin, since larger cats have very similar paws to a dog.
What happened to Harry's wand though. I read the scene as Kakaroff getting the wand from harry and traping him as part of the large magic. If that is so did the beast not only protect him but also retrieve his wand as well.
And speaking of the attack why didn't harry curse the man where he stood. I mean he can't beleve that Kakaroff had any intrest in his welefare regardless of his position on the dark lord.
And on the attack, just what were the people who attacked his house, from the sound of it they weren't exactly Death Eaters. Does this mean the wards don't recognize them without any tie to Voldemort. OR does it have to do with him having harry's blood, or does it touch on any number of other reasons why the wards don't work. One of the best ideas I have for how the wards can fail, is that due to the amount of emnity between Harry and the Dursley's the wards actually act against him. The spell has been twisted by the hate from the families and instead of it being a protective ward, it is just a spell that is feeding off hate and negative emotions in the house, not actually stoping anyone with ill intentions from entering the house since it can't tell the difference between them and the Dursleys.
I also want to reiterate the question on just who was in the rooms when Moody spotted them, is it Harry or did the beast effect more then saving Harry?
