Iscaylis 8/19/10 . chapter 1I am SO glad that you made Puck and the Magus brothers. I KNEW I couldn't be the only person to notice that they looked alike. |
thewiseferret 5/28/10 . chapter 1I hate the set up. I love the story.
Having it set up like a poem makes it hard to read, but it is wonderful and heart breaking. Having the Magnus as a halfling was an interesting idea and a good one I think. The way you described the pointless power struggles between Oberon and Titania made me sympathise with every 'Child' of Oberon. That little touch about the donkey was genius and Puck's love for that child was believable and heart-rending.
The Iliad was- not something I would have considered, but it makes sense. Fae learning how humans think. The way Puck does himself down ('half-breed bastard with a few good tricks'), his worry, his pacing, the way he eventually caves as much for 'the boy he'd never been' as for Alexander, it's sad and wonderful and it hits all the right marks.
One of your reviews said Puck seems more 'human and emotional than just a regular ol' trickster', not true! The Trickster is and should be human and emotional. That's his point. He's an instruction on wit and the way that laughter keeps us alive. On making life worth living-
Every one of your reviews seems to be telling you you're a good author, but I think if you've got to the point where you can write this you know that already. Thank you for putting this up though, it was a wonderful read, it's good to see real unromantic love in stories every now and then, and it's good to know there are authors who don't make the medieval mistake of confusing a Trickster with a Devil.
I hope you're proud of this one. |
AngelofTheo 1/4/08 . chapter 1I love this so very much. It's very well done and you portrayed Puck so wonderfully. It's amazing and you are a great writer. |

 LadyKatherine29 3/19/06 . chapter 1Just brillant. I loved it, a great look into Puck's mind. A wonderful piece about Puck's reasoning behind his taking a stand. |
alation 3/15/06 . chapter 1I enjoyed this story a great deal. Your references to Shakespeare (perhaps unintentional - they "knew which way the wind was blowing?") and the old myths were well incorporated and kept my interest. This had a good flow between the past and present and didn't lose its pace. I'm looking forward to more! |
Stella Aurelico 1/21/06 . chapter 1This was an excellent story! I love how you showed the Trickster in a new light. You've inspired me to seek out more Puck stories. |
