abuseI wasn't accusing Archer of being sexist. The story made his feelings very clear. In fact, apparently Archer is the only one in the story who is allowed to actually have feelings that can't be manipulated. Yeah for Archer the martyr.

I do, however, question anyone who thinks that who writes a story in which the woman is just passed back and forth between the men, at the men's whim. Because your story implied that it was only because Archer left that she chose to have eventual feelings for Trip. Women don't work that way. Either she had feelings for Trip, or she has them for Archer. Yes, she may care for them both, but the essential idea of the story, that Archer can decide T'Pol's fate for her, is sexist, whether that was your intent or not.

abuseI just though that I'd leave you a review here.

I don't know how you did it, but you managed to please both groups of very different shippers with this one story. You have a masterful way with a pen, and I enjoyed every moment of this fic. Thanks for putting such care and thought into it, and for delving outside of your traditional ship.

For those who are giving you a bad time (I only really see one ridiculous review, thank goodness) -- they're hliariously wrong. I cannot believe the delicacy with which you crafted this story. :-)

Thanks again!

abuseJane...

Sorry, but you are assuming there is a sexist attitude where none exists. T'Pol's gender is not
an issue. If I reversed the roles with Archer in T'Pol's place, I question whether you would voice any opposition. The choice Archer made wasn't because he believed T'Pol couldn't make one, but because he feared that she might choose to be with him, regardless of any warning he might give her...resulting in something terrible happening to her. He cared for her well being more than his happiness. Sorry, but that isn't sexism...it's love. T'Pol would have done the same thing for either of them.

abuseHow utterly sad, =( Poor Cptn' but as they say if you truly and passionetly love it's best to know and feel that person in your life Had he chosen her as selfing as that maybe he loved her enough to give her still a happy life. =) Luv'd it. =)

abuseI honestly didn't like this at all. According to this story, all T'Pol is is a pawn to Archer and/or Trip, and isn't capable of making any decision of her own.

I'll assume you're a man.

abuseWhen I saw this I double took. Especially since I know you delve into Trip/T'Pol so much. So I had to read it. I thought it was interesting maybe a little jumbled with all the alternative realities and why he had them. In the end I preferred it if Archer confronted T'Pol good or bad. It would have created much needed closure. Other than the ending I've no other issue. A nicely created piece of angst all in all. Actually the story reminded me of a phrase in Frasier--"Two Roads Diverged and I Took Them Both".

abuseGreat story with a good ending--Archer's decision is exactly what he would have done. He couldn't take his friend's love away from him, nor could he let any harm come to T'Pol. I like it.

I'll be sure to read you Captain Soma fic!

abuseYou've done the impossible, Quills. You've written a story that makes both shippers happy. Nice glimpses of both lives. I'll admit the A/T'Pol was sad, but it was also filled with happiness and love on both sides. Although, in the end, she ends up with Trip, Archer knows she will have a long life full of love and a child. Bravo.

abuseI'm glad so many of you liked the story. It was definately wasn't a happy ending. But I don't see Archer having one. Of course, that is just my take on the character. Perhaps I will do another story where the ending is more amiable for Archer. I will just have to wait and see if a good idea comes to me.

In my view, T'Pol is attracted to both Archer and Trip for different reasons. They are both different me, with their own qualities. Does that make her fickle? I don't think so. It's a matter of who makes the first move, and at the right moment. If Archer had gone through that door then in all likelihood she may very well have chosen to explore with him. Her feelings for Trip are there, but undecided. Which suiter would she choose?

Several of you have pointed out that you would have liked T'Pol to make the decision. While I acknowledged that it would have essentially been her choice, if she had chosen to be with Archer, she would have died within 10 years. Archer couldn't allow that. As much as the life he saw them have was full of happiness and love, he couldn't let her die...not if he loved her. So, although he couldn't remember the details, he was certain that if he walked through that door, he would be harming the woman he cared for. So...rather than take that chance...he sacrificed his own happiness.

abuseGood story - very well written, although I would have liked T'Pol to have made the decision herself that she wanted Trip, rather the the 'Oh so great Jonathon Marta Archer'.

abuseWell, you've done the impossible. I'm sure you've made both shippers happy.

Am I disappointed with the ending? Heck yes! I so wanted it to end happily for my favorite couple.

Was it a terrific story with lots of emotion, treating all characters well (and with the love and respect they deserve), keeping me interested and entertained for the few minutes it took to read? Definitely so.

Thanks for putting your fingers to the keyboard. [And for those A/T'P-ers who are reading, I highly encourage you to read his others flights of fancy.]

abuseVery well written and very enjoyable but I would have liked T'pol to have made the decision on her own as to whether she wanted to be with Archer or Trip. Are you saying that if Archer had knocked on the door she would have ended up with him. That makes her feelings quite fickle, doesn't she know which one she wants to be with.
