An interesting look at these characters and a wonderful way to show how similar, yet how different, they are.

Wow... I'm surprised I didn't find this sooner. :o) What a wonderful story - and a wonderfully rare moment for me that I will cherish: my favorite character in a non-romantic (much less non-yaoi) setting. Thank you for a wonderfully (I use that word too much, but its true) introspective Hakkai piece. I loved the interaction between him and Goku. :o) Very nice.

Your writing is good, but you were correct, the characters are slightly OOC. Not too much, though. Most of the ooc comes from that you have them talking in speeches, too long at aa time. If you watch their dialogues in the show or manga closely, you will see that they converse in the question/answer fashion mostly. Oh yeah, and your little speech as for why Gojyo doesn't womanize was cute, but it's rather unlikely that he gives up that particular vice. He might cut down on it for lack of chance, but not give up on it.. since, if he would, then he wouldn't be in half as much trouble with Sanzo over doing it.

Very sweet. Goku in the role of the caring, knowing, understanding and even wise one. I like it.
