i like what you've done with the story, it's well thought out and paced.
i can't see naruto dying like that however.
still like it how sasuke doesn't make an actual appearance in the story, rather he is a shadow, or a memory, but he's what drives the strory along.
interesting, it's very calm. thats the only way i can describe it.

nobody knows that he's gone. they can't for sure. they just gave up cuz it's easier. all except naruto. i love that he knows it's sakura he has to let go of, leave behind. cuz she left them behind in a way even sasuke didnt'.

can't believe sakura said all that crap to the kids. plot contrievance, i suppose.
can't realistically see naruto liking hinata either, even kissing her. i mean, do you see him going for soft and teary and passive? who really wants that all the time, honestly, especially somebody so full of energy and passion like naruto. ~shrug~ i guess it's cuz sasuke and him fit like a bloody glove, ya know? that's why people like the pairing, even if they dont' like yaoi.

hmm...na..not too weird, the se x thing, but only cuz it's sasuke and naruto and they're ninja and lets' face it, grow up differently. sure real life teenagers do this thing, but too early and best friend or not let's face it, it's not remotely healthy or advisable, as curious as you may be. and never truly turns out right unless you just don't care and it saves you trouble.
poor naruto and sasuke. he just let him go. and decided to go date girls? geez, to what end? you're chasing after him even 5 years later. ya love someone stick to it boyo. doing things half-assed never helped anyone, nor did trying to get it both ways.

sakura's engaged huh? go figure. i don't naruto ever really truly LIKED her that way though, even at 12. it was a blind puppy crush, obvious in the way he found the stupidest things to praise even when there was nothing redeeming about her. and even when she gets better, her berating and insults are a bit hypocritical, like she's the only one that can do no wrong. sasuke trying to kill him is easier to put up with, and it's obvious he respects that more. the smallest aknowledgement for sasuke meant everything to him even then.
poor naruto. i love that you don't have him giving up even after orochimaru takes over. good for him.

Okay, I finished this last night and was incapable of reviewing.

I wish I could express in words the EFFECT this had no me, the depth of the emotional impact. What's amazing, is I knew it was building up to this (someone rec'd this based on a one shot of mine where Naruto gave his life for Sasuke), but I kept hoping it would end differently. Strangely enough, I didn't cry when I read it, but I felt like this hollow had opened in my chest, a dull ache. I couldn't sleep. I lay in the darkness, so overcome by emotion and sadness and DEPRESSION, that I couldn't even bring myself to cry.

This has never happened to me. Yes, I have been moved, inspired and touched by fanfic, but this tore my heart out. I felt like I was in shock. I can't get the imagery and the feeling out of my head.

I certainly hope that you are an author and will be writing novels in the future. If you can move readers like this for a fanfic...well, let's just say you have real talent. I know some of my reaction is based on personal attachments to the characters, but you brought out a depth and earnestness in my heart that I have never felt. It was amazing.

YOU WROTE REALISTIC SEX! With embarrassment; and, "omg, did I shower?" moments; and "hey, look, I didn't find the prostate right away!"; and, wow, we're actually equals and not some pathetic representation of traditional gender roles (uke/seme).

Honestly, it is impossible to crit this because it is perfect.

However, on an OVERALL level, I have to admit that Naruto doesn't seem to be FIGHTING hard enough for Sasuke. I mean, before he promised to break every bone in his body and bring him back. I just can't see him being this passive about the whole situation. It's a bit OOC.

This plot is so god, and what a creative and Naruto like test. You had his character so perfect when he was talking about standing his ground as a ninja. Made me tear up.

I'm really trying to find something to crit, which I'm typically very good at, but you are too excellent and make it rather difficult.

I adore your characterization of Naruto. You've aged him well and remained true to his basic spirit. I also love your dialog, POV and pacing. You have a well-rounded start to this story and I'm settling in for a very satisfying read!

Despite the slash, which I'm not a huge fan of, it worked in this story because you sold it convincingly. I agree with your last authors note, and think you did well with the angle you tried.

It's always interesting, if somewhat depressing, to read a story where Naruto doesn't get his Happily Ever After. Well done.

Really good epilogue, probably the best of the whole story; though, it could have done without that final 2 line paragraph.

This was an amazing story. The span of humorous moments between Naruto and his genin team, as well as the positively heartbreaking last moments between Naruto and Sasuke. It was a joy to read.

Usually I'm not too thrilled when OCs get involved, nevertheless the genin were perfect. You managed not to make an exact Team 7 clone, and for that I thank you :D
