i just happened across this story today, i love the movie spirited away, its one of my absolute favorites.
i enjoyed this story so much! :) everything about it was awesome and really a joy to read. i love the chemistry you had between haku and chihiro, the dramatic scenes with the gods and chihiro's dilemma when she was at home and i love linca's character!! shes hilarious and a well writ character :) i honestly read all 40 chapters in one day because it was so good :) amazing work, and i cant wait to read the sequel 'enchantment of the heart' :)

When I first started reading this, knowing it had an epilogue and a sequel, I asked myself... How can someone get 90+ chapters from a 1 hour and 30 minute movie?

Then I read it... and I understood.

Beautiful. There are no other words to describe it. I love the complex ideas of how Chihiro would have to deal with this knowledge, how she would be branded as insane. And then... Bah... Haku... -inner fan girl squeals-

Alas, it is 2 in the morning, and I still have a full day of school tomorrow. The epilogue and sequel must wait until morning.

Overall, I am liking the beginning.

But a few things about Chihiro are a slightly off-key.
I always thought that after her experience, she had matured as a person. I think she would have understood that no one would believe her. The calm confidence she carried in the actual movie seems to be absent from the character.

And frankly, all the "I hate everyone" "why is this happening to me" whining etc. doesn't seem accurate to her character.

This seems like someone who has undergone a tragic ordeal, and not the character-strengthening experience that Chihiro went through. I also thought that she should have some clarity at least by 29 years of age, more focus perhaps.

Anyways, overall, I think I'm going to continue reading this to the end. And it could just be my pet peeve with whining of any kind.

I don't like it when heroines are victimized in any way. But that's just my crazy way. :)

That was completely and utterly amazing!
This has been the first lengthy Spirited Away story I've read (with my reading list of shorter S.A. stories being currently at a pathetic number of 2) but I have to say, you'vepossibly hooked me to this fandom.
As I'm typing this, it is currently 12:18 and on a school day so I am definetly going to read the rest of your series tommorrow...I mean when I wake up...and maybe a bit more before I sleep.

Wow. I didn't know anybody else out there really understood the term hedgewitch. Or even used it. I think thats what I'll be when I'm done with my studies. Have you ever seen stonehenge? People say its beautiful. I'll bet that it is. Some people say that pagan rituals are held there on the solstices and equinoxes. I wish I could go.

Hi, This is actually the first spirited away fic I've read, and I really like it. Are you still writing stories? I have a few poems that I wrote that you might be interested in. I love your name by the way. I will probably not review again until the last chapter. I really enjoyed the description of Haku. And the concept of Chihiro being thought to be crazy was brilliant. Very few people seem to care about what they write, but this is very well thought out. I often wondered what happened to Chihiro and Haku, and the others when Chihiro went back to the human world. Is there actually a disease called sallow-hale? I will finish reading now, and review probably tommorrow. It's midnight now, but I have no school tomorrow so I'm going to read away until I fall asleep on My laptop and wake up at noon tomorrow with letters engraved in my cheek. Goodnight. And I have really enjoyed the story thus far. Thank you for your brilliance.

Yes, I am very late reviewing this story, but it is possibly the best fanfiction I have ever read. Took me three days(School and stuff), but it never left my computer screen. It's really amazing, you showed how everyone has matured, and you didn't rush anything, just let the story follow it's natural course. I read every word and would read it all again. You're a genius!
I also found Chihiro's need to be in the magic realm intruiging. I identified with her very well. Continue making works of art my friend. ;)

That was a most excellent fic! It has been quite some time since I became so engrossed in a good read that I literally forgot to eat and sleep. Never fear, though, I have a loving husband who forced me to do both at one time or another. I think it was extremely well written and thought out, you obviously put a lot of time and effort into this and I enjoyed it all, even the parts I didn't particularly agree with.
