Beautifully written. Again, bravo. You just nail the characters. It's nice to see some Mary Watson in a story. I have the entire Granada Sherlock Holmes collection with Jeremy Brett, and I was sad that Mrs. Watson wasn't even mentioned.

I thought I reviewed this, but I didn't! What a horrid person I am. Anyway, I must do so immediately. This is without doubt one of my favorite stories on FFNet. Not just in the Sherlock Holmes section - because what's better than Sherlock Holmes fanfiction? - but on the whole site. It's not long or epic or anything like that, but it's just so poignant and moving. It's no secret how Holmes felt about Watson's marriage, but there's nothing written about how he dealt with it, or how he felt about Mary, and you've managed to convey it brilliantly. And writing it from Mary's viewpoint was perfect. How she could palpably feel Holmes' agitation and his regret over leaving Watson. And Mary hugging Holmes! That was so, just, God, so sweet! Boy, it's hard for me to give a detached opinion when I'm such a girl. This story makes me too gushy and emotional. But in that you succeed where many can't, so good on you. I adore your work. Keep it up, won't you?

That story was wonderful. Keep on writing. I can't wait for the next.

Very good indeed. Personally, I've always loved Mary Morstan. Very sad, but beautifully done.

Gawd, I loved this story. It's perfect, these two who know Watson best, both realizing they'll be gone before the year is up. It almost made me cry...that and the fact that Holmes knows before Watson that Mary is pregnant, I liked that bit. It fits. I absolutely have to add this to my favorite stories list; it was just that good. Everything about it was perfect.

Hmm... very clever, my dear. I always wondered what it was that Mary died of...

I love this story - Mary always seems a little overlooked, and her views on Holmes are extremely... refreshing, to say the least.

Ah! *is sobbing again* Such a bautiful, beautiful piece of work. Truly, I had always wished Mrs. Watson to die, but I may be reconsidering now. :) Oh dear, too late. ACD sure doesn't linger on Watson's grief, does he? Anyway, excellently done, brilliant characterization, and such a lovely plot.

Very well done! Even ACD himself had a hard time telling stories from Holmes' POV (and not through Watson's narration), but you do a fantastic job of it!
