This is so weird. I was just reading your fic "Getting a Life" while you must have been reading my fic "Just Another Guest." Funny! Really enjoyed the crossover fic. I don't normally go near them, but I've been back reading some of your stuff and your referrals. I stopped watching JAG and Harm/Mac ship several years ago - it just lost all flavor and hope for me. I could care less weather or not Harm and Mac ever end up together. However, Sam and Jack ... well, I'm hoping for better results. I liked the idea of friendship between Sam and Harm - but nothing more. Not for me anyway. Nice story. Guess Sam and Jack will start spending more time flying together now. *wink wink* :-) Thanks for the story.

Nicely done. I am not usually a fan of crossovers, but you (like Brenna in A New Life) pulled it off well. All four main characters stayed true to themselves. And I agree with what you said in your note. I am confident that Mac and Harm will get together eventually. At this point, I'm not so confident about Sam and Jack. So if they aren't going to get together in the show, the least we can do is get them together in the fanfic!
RST is definitely harder to write because it seems so out of character for them. But you can use it as a personal challenge. How would Sam and Jack act if something changed that allowed them to be together? How would they handle things if the only thing stopping them from being together was themselves? And we know from her relationship with Pete on the show (which i'm in denial about by the way) that she is obviously starting to rethink her priorities. Jack would never ask her to give anything up for him. But that's her decision to make.
And don't worry about being perfectly in character! If you put them in a new situation, they're allowed to act a little differently. There are definitely fics out there I stop reading halfway through because its just too unbelieveable, but your characterization has been well done. Expand on what we only see glimpses of in the show, as you have done in this fic and others, and trust yourself.
