Niabi 2009-07-02 . chapter 42It took me a few days to read this whole story, but now that I have, all I can say is WOW! Your characterizations for everyone were excellent! Loved 'em all!
Admittedly, some of the formatting, especially in the beginning, was a little distracting, and the tense changed from past to present at odd times occasionally, but overall, I'm truly impressed with this fic. You did a marvelous job on the story, the progression.
Something in particular that surprised me were the OCs you added: Anatalia, Montes, even Legolas' boss. They all had their own personalities. They were real people, not just 2D representations. That pleased me to no end.
And what downright shocked me was that, despite the perfect scenario, not once, in the entire story, did Anatalia strike me as Mary Sue-ish. I can't even begin to express how glad I am of that. You deserve a big congratulations for that feat alone.
Anyway, I'm sure I could go on forever about how much I enjoyed this fic, raving about all the parts I liked, but that would basically just be recapping the entire story, and that would take up quite a bit of space! So suffice to say, I really, really enjoyed every chapter and think you did a fantastic job. And of course thank you very much for writing this. :) |
ATrueBlueSky 2009-06-13 . chapter 42I wish I could express just how amazing this story is. I don't think I could ever quite give it justice though. This is a grand piece of writing- in scale and quality. The characters each seem both in and of themselves, while also containing that sort of 'the world has changed and how do I fit in it now?' that is an amazing element to the story. The twists and turns are numerous and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time and always guessing as to what would happen next, trying to find the connections and the divergences from the original tale. To be honest, with this sort of writing ability you could easily become a published author. I love your style, your wording, characterization, the fact that you didn't force all the characters to reawaken... Goodness, I don't think there was anything here I didn't like!
TL;DR: This is freaking wonderful. |
Arisprite 2009-05-29 . chapter 42Hi, I found this story on tuesday after seeing Ixlwing's wonderful drawings. I read this entire trilogy in a wild rush over the next two days, and let me say that it was amazing. I literally felt sick with suspense at times. Thank you for writing such a magnifigant story. I don't think you have any reason to feel concerned about the "Mary-Sues" I liked both Ana and Lousia. Perfect characterizations, very vivid and intense.
I actually have been looking for a good "Fellowship-in-modern-times" story. All the others I found were either unfinished or just bad. I'm so glad I found yours.
I doodled some pictures if you're interested. The link is

Escape my reality 2009-05-25 . chapter 1OMG. thats all i can say |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-05-10 . chapter 38Oh, this part was so morbid: 'For here in this car, history weighed far more heavily, far more painfully. Here was Smeagol as caught in deception and insatiable hunger ages ago, as now. And here was a young man pressed into duties that entailed the fate of the world—quite a burden for a frame so small. Here was Sam, one of the grandest friends of all the worlds, unsure and worried. Here was Elladan, who was facing the loss of lifelong friends held captive in the Amazona. The limited space of the car—windows closed and air wet and tight because of the raging rains outside—was heady with the weight of history, and fear of the future, the very burden of it was just clogging every breath.
Elladan’s jaws were set tight, as he kept his burning eyes on the road. He could hear the muffled crashes and hits, every strike that met flesh, every gasp that tried to remain silent, all from the comm. link he could not bear to tear from his ear. It was almost vulgar, to try and spare the self of hearing their pain, it was almost traitorous not to stay, and share some of it, even in just spirit. His friends were dying. Slowly, painfully. And he was, once again this night, running the other way.'
I really, really love this story. *reading on* |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-05-10 . chapter 37Good freaking grief! No wonder it's titled 'All Hell'! Everyone is shot or beaten! Also, Boromir had better not die. |

TheFightingTemeraire 2009-04-22 . chapter 36OMG OMG OMG Brad/Boromir is still going to die, isn't he?!?!?! |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-04-22 . chapter 35"Your men will have to aim against three of us, but we'll all be aiming only toward your black heart. In the end, none of the three of us may remain standing but I assure you, you will surely be on the ground with the rains washing away at your lifeblood."
Éomer still has death threats to give out, I see *lol*
‘One simply does not kill the Shieldmaiden of Rohan's friends, injure those whom she loved dearly, and expect to escape without getting hurt.’
*nods in agreement*
You are SO good at keeping them all in character. Seriously. |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-04-22 . chapter 34This is my favorite line out of the entire chapter: "And Anatalia, Haldir and Goran are likely drunk and dancing by now." I would actually pay to see that =D
ANYWAY...the suspense is seriously killing me. *reads on* |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-03-19 . chapter 31Oh my word. OH MY WORD! BRILLIANT! |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-03-19 . chapter 30So is Haldir back? *clasps hands together happily* |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-03-19 . chapter 29"one of them still had the gall to try and charge a meal to one of the patrons of this very restaurant and sneak out. They washed the dishes to pay it off, and the owner was endeared enough to give them a free dinner." You have a great imagination, and I bet that was Pippin. I also love these two: '“You two look like…” Goran hesitated, “Well say I’m twenty years old, right, young and nervous and I think someone’s after me? Well… Well… when I see you, I’m going to think they’re you.'” Legolas stifled a laugh.", and "It was out of pride that they did not lose the sunglasses, lest the blasted hacker find in satisfaction that his opinion actually mattered to them." AND of course leave it to Brad/Boromir to CHASE the hobbits. You know what? I'm just waiting for a reincarnated Shelob to show up somewhere later. |
 TheFightingTemeraire 2009-03-19 . chapter 28Oh! The suspense! |
TheFightingTemeraire 2009-03-19 . chapter 27This is SO in character: "I'm not a damned fugitive, you pompous **," Goran exclaimed, "I thought you said I was pardoned?"
"You are pardoned," said Harding, "But until I make my debriefing with you and my superiors tomorrow, I'm responsible for your safety and your good behavior."
Just saying. |
