forestfire18 2004-09-24 . chapter 1Wow. That was so beautiful. I didn't think it was awkward at all. (and i go on this site and see awkwardness all the time). I am bisexual and I love fairy tales and the only time I have read fairytales where two girls are in a relationship is in Francesca Lia Block's stuff (her version of this story is fairly similar to yours) and Emma Donoghue's book, Kissing the Witch: Old Tales in New Skins. I loved how you showed the multilayered characters of the outgoing Rose Red and the dulcet Snow White. In the versions I've read, I've always better identified with Rose Red. This story was so sad that at the end I actually cried out as if in pain and my mom asked what was wrong but I couldn't explain it to her completely, especially not the "squish". This was beautiful. Thanx. luvluv-bea (life is a great and terrible beauty, and i only say this to a few people, you have captured that.) |
Callisto Callispi 2004-08-24 . chapter 1Oh my. Well, that was a surprise. So the beard was how Red Rose cut off all ties with Snow White? Clever. Clever prince. Evil prince. *shudder* I would hate to live in a fairy tale world as twisted as this one. Of course, the writing here was nicely done. :) I applaud you once more! I love the chilling twists that you incorporate into your story. ^_^
