That was a good little story. It definitely kept Denethor's attitude towards Faramir following his mother's death accurate. please keep writing.

Very amusing, you never can tell when there is a wizard sneaking around.

A good thing too that he watches out for Faramir, Denethor appeared to have lost it for a bit there.

You had me worried about Faramir's safety, good for Gandalf !His mother was foolish to ride when pregnant so faramir can hardly be blamed.

This is really interesting to read. It seems it shall be longer and deeper than I thought at first.
I am very curious about what shall happen next. The cliff hanger at the end really makes one curious about what is coming.

okay, going to talk to the author, not to Denethor now. Good job at developing Denethor's "insanity", but i don't like to call it that. Jealousy is a very good explanation to why he hates Faramir and Gandalf together, and it parallels the areas in T and RotK where he is so hideous to his younger son. good job!

Who is the black cloaked person? I assume it's his stupid dad. Why does his dad always frown upon Faramir he hasn't done anything wrong! Please keep going! And please get Faramir away from the jerk of a dad!

u spelled Denethor wrong, on more than one occasion, and there are a few typos. other than that, i liked it. "The personal cost did not matter and emotions were to be sublimated." it totally captures, in a few words, Denethor's idea of duty.
i was a bit surprised at Denethor's bluntness and willingness to disclose personal information such as, seeing Faramir pained him, for he saw Finduilas in his face. but i like his bruntness, for it characterizes him, in saving nothing, however harsh, from his son.

Poor Faramir, I feel sorry for him.I'm enjoying this story.
