So so so SO very good for a one-shot. I loved it. It drags you through the mud and gunk, just to make the ending that much brighter and happier and lovelier. Really good. I especially like how you wrote in chronologically with Sev's age increasing steadily, rather then 'and then this happened, then this, and then this'.

Yea. Great fic. I mean, this is the entire piece, the "chapter 1" is just for title usage. Not that I wouldn't love for it to me longer, but it makes such a tidy little one-shot. But if you do have an idea where the story would go, please write it and post it, 'cause I'll put myself into a frenzy thinkin' of where this story was heading towards.

Very incharacter look at Sev, which I liked. I like this writing style, I wonder why it scares you? Hmm, if *I* like it then I guess you should be scared after all... Anyways, I liked the end the best. The last six or so sentences^^

wonderful piece

this was very well done. it seems simple, but there is a complex layering to it. you can see how deeply sad Severus is, yet see how he's kept a very small part of himself safe and able to hope, even if he won't admit it. And he never did stop understanding, did he? Very very well done.
