I like the comparison to the laughing children in the background. There's an innocence in what they're doing which makes it chilling and compelling at the same time.

"My God, the blood is red" was my favorite line. It was a relief that you didn't go on about scarlet, crimson, wine, bergundy and every other sodding euphamism for blood, red is red, its nice to hear it said and left at that.

Very morbid but there isn't anything wrong with that because the way you told the short fic gives it meaning.

I liked it, it's not long but it doesn't need to be to get the point across.
