I always had a feel that Moriarty and Holmes had a history that went farther back than we ever knew. Not unsurprising, considering the limited narration that Watson is able provide.

I've a number of Sherlock Holmes fanfictions on this site, and I have to say that this is definitely one of the best. I'll have to continue reading and find out where this ends.

I'm not sure if I've commented yet, but I love this story. You've portrayed Watson and Holmes so well, it's just fantastic.

Brillinat story. I love your writing style, it is almost like reading one of Doyles books. Your characterisation of Holmes and Watson was perfect, and that Mycroft was there for Sherlock in the end was very touchig, just like Holmes telling Watson the whole storie in the first place.

I don't read many Sherlock Holmes fanfics, but this glimpse into a troubled time in his youth was wonderful. Perhaps something with more Watson?

I've just come from watching "The Return of Sherlock Holmes" with Jeremy Brett. I watched an episode with Mycroft in it, and proceeded to look up "Mycroft" on DeviantArt. I found your picture, entitled "Brother," and found my way to this story.

May I say that though I have only read the first page, it is excellent. You've captured Watson and Holmes brilliantly. I look forward to reading the rest of the story.

I'm not in the habit of reading Holmes fanfiction, but I must say that this seems not only possible but probable in terms of what little is provided about Holmes early life.

It rings true, and mainly for one point:

Who else but Sherlock Holmes could possibly determine the fate, of Sherlock Holmes?

Very interesting, and very well done. I admit I had thought the the 'skeleton' of the dead man (as in skeleton in the closet) might have been that he was a pedophile or a predatory homosexual using the boys. Sigh - 'tis sad when the first thing that comes to mind is something that sordid.

A minor note - I don't think that 'rat' in the sense of informer is a British term; doubtlessly there are Brits out there who could confirm it. I think 'grass' is the British for it. Holmes as an adult would not use either slang expression when not impersonating a particular type of person. Just a quibble; I liked this story a great deal, but it was a bit jarring.

I must say, as far as short story pastiches go, I think that this is certainly one of the best I've ever read. Especially on Sherlock Holmes. But truly perhaps one of the best nevertheless as far as the story itself goes.

Fascinating story - I'll definitely be reading more of your stories in the future! :)
