OMG!

This rocks.

I've recently been introduced to Roswell and I love it. Fanfic ideas popped up as early as the third ep season 1. Ah - to be young and in love with a drama again. Lmao - I wish this love would superimpose itself into my current struggling fics.

I've been drawn to their A/U's because I think their fascinating. This is a great story

I enjoyed this.

oh, creepy! It reminds me of the olden days, with concubines and i suppose it was the wives too and that's just so creepy and possible... shudders and but also, to add to the theory, u know how it was that max cld never accept tess and michael cld never let go of maria and 2 a lesser extent I think (tho i'm not sure.. haven't seen it yet) that isabel's marriage to notalex didn't work? Well maybe, genetically engineered or naturally encoded of their Race, they can only ever fall in love once - maybe there's some chemical Thing that makes their first love their only love and it inescapably binds them together forever in some deep mystical way, which makes tess's separation fro the others even more of a screw up and teh reason they were to waken together even more important, because they would have all been together and they would have all dreamed their destinies and understood together, and it would all be entirely different, tho not to the extent of the dupes. But who knows, if tess hatched with them them maybe from birth they would have instinctively paired, and then it wld b even more weird and complicated if tess & max were taken in by the evanseses(eses?) and then the dreams told them they were married... but anyway, yeh, so they cld have been genetically bound to find one love... and yeh. shrugs

I always found it interesting that Roswell was able to imagine space aliens, but not that the aliens might have a culture more interesting or advanced than our own in terms of the relationship between the sexes.

Then again, SF writing & TV is largely the provenance of men and boys, and in their little fantasy worlds they only want subservient honeys. Having said that, this story is a very good examination of the issue of chattel. It made me think of Guinevere in MZB's "The Mists of Avalon."

As always, well written, with one particular line that really jumped out at me(as a pleasant surprise):

"This is her Destiny, she tells herself, trying not to tremble, to cry, to fling herself into Laetezia's arms and pray this life away."

I rekon that Tess is the actuall 'dupe' and Ava is the real thing
me 2/19/01 . chapter 1
I like it, very discript. How could Tess want her life to be like this?

A very imaginative tale. Extremely well written. I would love to see more of this type work! Kuddos, Papillon... keep writing!

This story is wonderful. It's beautiful and most wonderfully written. Throughout the entire story I had such an image in my mind...it seemed so real. The show doesn't give me the realism that this story did. It was absolutely fantastic.Lioness
