HRT 2006-09-25 . chapter 1This is probably the most interesting take on Denethor I've seen, beating all the 'serious' fics I've come across. This is very good indeed. |
Lilan 2005-05-09 . chapter 1Rosie, that was wonderful. I've been giggling quite for some time and still am. How come I found it only now?
I saw your kind reviews for 'Waiting', so I know that you are familiar with my own feelings for Denethor. I could never see him a monster, and I have a feeling that if a relationship does not work, it is rarely the fault of one person only (unless the other one is a maniac of some kind, which I doubt Denethor is - Tolkien in fact never says so). Faramir must have been a difficult child to deal with, especially with the war going on; well, we can curse Denethor for not giving him enough attention, but guys, the poor man had a country to run! At a certain age Faramir had to understand that. Another possible reason is the similarity of their characters, a thing which often leads to clashes of opinions.
OK, this is turning into a long thing for a humorous story. It was great. I had in mind to quote several favourites, but realised it would have turned into copying the entire text. Thanks for a wonderful piece!
Any ideas of a sequel?
Regards,
Lilan |

Bite My Nails 2004-09-27 . chapter 1HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA, I knew Faramir goody good act was to good to be true. HAHAHAHAHA This was so funny, Poor Denethor, Wow never thought those word would be coming out of my mouth. Well no poor Denethor, he deserved it, I don't know why he deserves it, but he does. He he, go Faramir. I always liked the Bad boy/Clown boys. You should do a sequel, Where Faramir in Rohan and He pulls prank on Éowyn. Because he liked her, You know like when a five years pick on each other that mean that that they like each other. I could see it now, Éowyn’s hair blue. Faramir just wanted it to match the eyes. Okay I think I bug you enough. (Singing) Off you the Steward the wonderful Steward of Gondor {Singing} (Faramir, not Denethor) |
Random-Battlecry 2004-09-10 . chapter 1Woohoo! Go Faramir! Nice to think that when he was young he wasn't quite so boring or angsty... this is very well done, btw.
I need to spend more time around young people, so that I might understand expressions such as "Hey man", and "Chill". |
quillon 2004-08-10 . chapter 1Sorry I didn't review sooner! I couldn't log in to give you a proper review until today!
I knew that everyone would like this fic as much as I do! Little Faramir is a terror!
"Orithil 3rd Norui: Visit from Imrahil. Talked about the demon masquerading as my son. Imrahil just says "boys will be boys". I think he encourages Faramir. He's never liked me." Aww...poor Denethor! :)
Great job! |
Pericles 2004-08-08 . chapter 1 Ha Ha! This was excellent! You write humour very well, and I think the format for the story was very creative. Any chance of any more? |

Carrie S 2004-08-07 . chapter 1Oh, Rosie, this is hilarious! I especially liked:
"need to spend more time around young people, so that I might understand expressions such as "Hey man", and "Chill". It was an uneventful journey, apart from coming across a small band of orcs, who were soon despatched with. Faramir stuck his head out of the carriage window, and holding his palm outward with index and third finger raised, kept saying "Peace"."
and
"I swear that boy will one day cause me to spontaneously combust, or to throw myself off the 7th level. "
Wonderful!
Absolutely delightful--the thought of Faramir being such a mischievous boy is wonderfully wicked. I almost sympathsize with Denethor!Almost. :D
Hope to be seeing more humor from you!
Hugs,
