Excellent story, and you did a great job with the characters. You also kept it pretty realistic as far as being lost in the desert, much better than most stories.

The only bit that was off, was Greg saying up to 2 weeks to die of dehydration in 'normal' conditions. I was raised on a ranch in the Chihuahuan Desert, N.M. and worked Search & Rescue for many years. In soft country, like East of the Mississippi, where there's shade and humidity, without drinking anything, dehydration & death occurs in about 2-5 days. In the desert, people have died within hours of leaving their vehicle, 2-3 days is usually max. There are exceptions, but they're rare.

The usual rule is 3 days without water & survival is unlikely, as the body is too damaged & unable to function to survive. Time is shortened by factors like any exertion, injury, very high or low temps, low humidity, etc.

This was a great story. Nice job.

I was blown away by this story, and by Enmity. They are some of the best fanfics I've ever read, well developed both in plot and character.

I love the way you write Nick, and the other characters' feelings about him, and all of their relationships...you just capture their interactions and voices so perfectly. IMHO!

I just read this for the first time, and immediately reread it again. Truly captivating. The tone is expressive without being excessively "wordy". I found myself rooting for Nick, cheering him on as I read. I haven't had the opportunity to do that with MANY a fic on this site. Side note: also read your "Temperments" series, loved them all. I don't care for slashy stuff so I'll stay away from that, but I do enjoy all of your works. I hope to read more soon.

This was absolutely amazing! I can't even find words to describe it...except beautifully done! Fics as good as these are really hard to come by nowadays. This is going on my "Favorites" list for sure :)
